Some say Clemson basketball fans need to be more passionate (I disagree).
When the passion is there those same people say Clemson basketball fans are uneducated.

Than football… I’ have been since I was in 4th grade 30 years ago… we were better at bball when I was growing up, I’m just numb to the failures now.

It’s never been bigger than football for me but definitely 1000 times bigger than it is now. I was in school from ‘89-‘93 and we went to all games, stood under the baskets. We were good teams and everybody cared. LJ was rocking and most importantly people cared (ACC basketball in general was way bigger in the 80’s too). Cliff Ellis was head and shoulders better coach than what we have. You used the term numb. I think fans are numb to the losing and just know we will lose when it matters most. Sad.

I agree, I was there for Tates Locke and Bill Foster and LJ rocked. Students cut class and stood in the rain to see David Thompson and NC State, Maryland and UNC and Clemson was very competitive. Bill Foster devised a defense to defeat the #1 ranked Duke Blue Devils. Why have we decided to settle to subpar coaching?

I was there exactly then and we used to camp for tix. We would have a group so someone could leave and get pizza or beverages. The games with Campbell, Dale Davis, etc were our glory year yrs as the ACC was the top conference by long shot in those days.

Beat up on scrubs in preseason and the brownlee bros gloat about how good we are. Then league play starts and the wheels fall off. How many years we going to keep doing this? Rhetorical question.

We didn’t just beat scrubs — Alabama, TCU, even the Gamecocks will be a quality win.
We have 17 conference games left. Today was awful, but we have plenty of time to get right.
There are some folks on this site who would say we’re gonna go on a losing streak even if we were in first. I understand this program and this coach don’t have the best track record, but it’s not time to panic and make knee jerk reactions

If we miss the tournament -- or honestly even if we back into the tournament and go one and done -- I'd be all for firing Brownell.
Just saying there's a ton of ball left and no reason to give up on this season.

If the majority of the fan base had an actual vote of when Brad Brownell should be fired, he would have been gone probably 5-6 years ago when the majority finally said enough is enough of him and his coaching style.
I was with the ones that thought and believed that he would turn our Basketball program around during his first 7-8 years, but after that I lost my belief in Brad, and I was ready to see him go.
Brad is a nice guy no doubt in my mind about that, but our basketball program deserves more than just nice guy, our program deserves a nice guy that can also have a winning basketball team that's at least in the top 10, top 15 team 50% of the seasons, and a top 20-25 the other 50% of the seasons. Brad has been the head coach for 14 years, and I don't think any of his teams have finished any season in the top 20-25 in the country, and that should tell Tiger nation that it's past time that Brad should be replaced, nice guy and all Brad should be gone by the end of this season or before....

We finished 20th after our '17-18 Sweet 16 year. That's been it.
Since that one moment of glory we've averaged around 75th in NET come season's end.

Unfortinately, the CU Adminstration and AD don't share your same outlook. I can almost guarantee that if Coach at least makes the NCAAT, First Four, or gets eliminated one and done he will be back with a new contract extension and will probably retire at Clemson. Thats how the BOT sees it, no matter what Neff would say differently. As long as Clemson is at least competitive in basketball that is all they care about. They will continue to let Neff try to make up the difference in upgraded facilities which is only going to get you so far IMO.
After the last few seasons and what transpired just don't see it...
