I graduated CU 18 years ago and moved back today to take a job with the school. Cannot wait to get started! It's felt very much like home in just the few hours since we arrived here.
One thing I'm curious about. In my last hometown, we had a great workout group numbering 50 or so regulars. There were some tremendous athletes in that group, but most of us (me included) were pretty normal folks. We did mostly running, especially with 3-4 mile runs that would start & end at breweries. On the weekends, we'd go longer, and we'd hit the local football stadium to run the steps, do some biking, carry heavy stuff around, whatever we could do to try to stay in shape.
Is there anything like that in Clemson, or even Seneca or Anderson? I know there must be a strong running community here, but I'm not sure how to plug into it. I'm missing my beer runs already.
I'm aware of the various gyms (traditional, Crossfit, boxing, etc.) as well. But any tips on fitness communities here would be much appreciated.
I live around here & admittedly am not the right guy to know

But I'm not aware of a group like that in Clemson, but surely there is. There is a "crossfit" or alternate style workout place right behind Backstreets off of Keith St. & across from where the the bar & grill was.
