Through friends I've had who were recruited to play college baseball, it's a very different world. Because of scholarship limits, they're more particular about who they get. It's very common for one school to offer a kid and another similar program to not. You also will get schools that offer a kid and tell him he has X amount of time to commit, and if he doesn't commit by the deadline, they'll pull his scholly. Some schools are known for taking more than they can scholarship and then cutting them. Schools that over sign kids and cut them (UGA) get a bad rep with recruits. It's a very different world than football recruiting
Yeah one of my best friends pitches for Winthrop, he had offers from ole miss and Tulane among others but it's just about who offers more in baseball since scholarships are so limited.
