Chad versus Jeff

Nov 8, 2022, 6:39 AM

Give me Chad all day. The offense was fun to watch and up-tempo. Sure, he made some boneheaded decisions at the goal line. But, I think a lot of that was personnel. Chad taught Jeff. Why would we want the student when we can get the teacher? Better yet, go bring both home.

He can't manage an offense the offense has to meet his demand. When a coach like that is unable to adjust to his players he is not a good coach.

Anyone could manage the personnel Jeff had when he was at Clemson. I'm not dismissing Jeff's talent or coaching ability but asking him to manage DJ is like asking a cat to pull a wagon.

Assuming that anyone could do better with our offense is idle speculation, imo. A reasonable person never makes changes based on idle speculation. I'm glad Dabo hasn't gone totally brain dead and fired anyone.

If he does it will not be because he thinks the grass is greener on the other side of the fence.

What about 2020 through now?

Jeff any day. I don't want a fun to watch offense. I want an offense predicated to winning Conference Championships and at least competing for a National Championship.
As to the teacher versus the student maybe sometimes the student should be the teacher.

Most folks (me included) keep thinking the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. Must trust the Coach(s) who work with these guys daily. If they say our best chance to win is with DJ then I accept their decision. All i get to see is gameday results.

i'd go outside the program for our next coordinator.

i'd like Scott on staff for his recruiting expertise. But he probably wouldn't if he didn't get offered the OC job.

Why?

Because Coach Scott was part of multiple national championship games, multiple national championship wins, coached WRs better and created offense to match skillets (See Cole Stoudt in bowl game).

Chad played to his playbook. If something was working, hee would still pull out a play bc he wanted to. It often killed momentum and put Clemson in 2nd or 3rd and long. Or was a turnover, see Sammy throw in UsC game.

I like Coach JS's grit. He had to prove more to do more.
