Chad Morris Leaving Effect
Sep 4, 2013, 2:37 PM
|
|
We're all worried about the effect it will have when Chad Morris does move on (I'm thinking after this season).
But on the other hand, I would certainly thing that our OC job is a prime job now. If DS can get someone that can continue what CM has started we should be okay. DS isn't going to bring someone in with a brand-new offense.

Yeah I am not sure what would happen. But having 3 strong seasons (assuming we win 10+ games this year) will create more of a sense of stability that will help us survive transitional times.

He would actually have to leave for there to be an effect.

Or, we can continually post about him being all but gone so Urban Meyer can send it to our commits.

I don't see him leaving anytime soon. He has a great position, his family loves Clemson, he has a daughter in high school, he makes tons of money and yes, he is very good as a OC, he still has a lot to learn about the overall process of being a BCS head football coach.

I often wonder when Chad will leave. He has to know he has a good thing going here at Clemson. He is the highest paid OC in the county, can recruit well here, has a passionate fanbase that has totally bought in to what he is doing. And, from the outside looking in, Dabo seems like he would be a pretty darn good boss. I don't think he will leave soon unless he gets a really special offer.

high-profile HC position at a school with a strong football tradition, and where there is a real opportunity to build a powerhouse. In the mean time, he's got it made here, where he can do what he truly loves, which is tinker with and innovate his offense, all while making a great big pile of money and without the pressure and distractions that come with being a head coach.

I could see Coach Chad Morris following a similar path as Mark Richt.
Richt was the QB coach under Bobby Bowden then got promoted to offensive coordinator where he served for 7 seasons before accepting the head coaching position at UGA.
Richt could've probably got a head coaching job sooner but he held out for a major college program.
Morris is only in year 3. I'm thinking we get 5-7 years before he takes a head coaching gig at a major BCS program.

positions come open and when. Speaking of Richt, I wouldn't be one bit surprised to see UGA come after him if Richt loses a couple more games this year.

Don't know if Matt Campbell would leave Toledo as HC for a higher paying OC job but he would be a good choice. Someone will steal him away after this year
