CFP Rankings Question

Nov 14, 2016, 11:54 AM

I think OSU will be number 2 this week. With that being said let's say they win out but don't get to the Big 10 title game will they drop all the way out of the top 4? If you put them there now and they beat Michigan who will be a top 5 team, how will the committee justify knocking them out for winning?

This is the only reason I can see us staying at number 2 tomorrow

Anything can happen in the next 3 weeks.***

In this case, the Big Ten champ will likely not make the field.

The most likely way the season plays out is Ohio St wins out. They "look" better than Michigan.

Clemson wins out. They "should" on paper.

Washington probably loses again, but could win out.

Louisville probably wins out.

Penn St/Wis probably plays for Big 10 championship.

All of this will likely not happen, but if it does my guess is:

1. Bama
2/3 - Clemson and Ohio St in either order

4. Either 1 loss Washington or 2 loss Big 10 Champion. Louisville is probably outside looking in.

This week = 1. Bama, 2. OSU, 3. Michigan, 4. Clemson

Winner of OSU-Michigan remains if they win the B1G and finish #2. Clemson finishes #3 if they win the ACC and Washington #4 if they win out and win the PAC12. Conference Champions will trump other one-loss teams
