Have family in Ohio (I know) and follow both Clemson and OSU pretty closely. No one in Columbus (including their premium writers) are really worried about him going anywhere but OSU. Just playing games at this point to drum up some suspense as everyone knows he's going to OSU. Take it for what it's worth but just posting what the other side is thinking... would be a great addition to the class but also don't want to get hopes up. He certainly won't make or break anything as #1 and #2 are all in.

And I think at this very moment, most on our side are confident that he'll be in our '18 class. A lot can certainly change between now and NSD, but he has emphasized his desire to be different, and Clemson presents a great opportunity for him to do just that.

Sooooo, after his visit he said Clemson is his top school, even after several visits to OSU. I like our chances.

I can only go by what he says. He would see early playing time for sure. OSU has a rich tradition but that natty trophy and a 31-0 beating of Ohio State speakers for itself.

and XT said that Carman is one of the 2 guys he's recruiting. Denial can cause sickness. Carman has already said who his leader is and OSU just face the truth.
Up until about 8:30 Friday april 7,every single Coot reporter on the planet thought XT was a USuC lock. Reasonable Tiger fans knew what was up when he went to IMG.

beating Clemson in the semi-final last season, either. We know how that worked out. A 31-0 beatdown and a speechless, incredulous Urban Meyer caught totally off-guard after getting his high powered B1G team punked by a better team and a better program.
Hopefully Carman will consider these things when making his decision. Urban Meyer is prone to sudden health issues...

Fair enough. Just passing along what premium 247 writers who follow recruiting are saying from the OSU side. Not talking about fans who have no connections. Take it for what it's worth but it's relevant to Carman's recruitment.
Have premium writers been wrong before? Absolutely. Were they wrong on XT? Yep.
Being a follower of recruiting on both sides, usually solid in state premium school writers are realistic/open to the possibility of a stud leaving the state and don't hesitate to show concern. The fact that no one in the know up there is even remotely worried tells me it will be an uphill battle regardless of his latest top school list. Here's to them being wrong.

I think it's far from a done deal for Clemson. Urban does a great job recruiting nationally and it really always has been tough to pull a kid out of Ohio... much less a talent like Carman. Hopefully having family in SC, along with the special, special program Dabo has built will help us seal the deal.

Well they have won a National Championship the very next season each of the last two times they lost to a team from the state of South Carolina in a bowl game. So at least they have that going for them.
