What a dumb place to have the ACC tournament. MD is no longer in ACC and it’s too far for most schools’ fans to travel to. WTH

It's the ACC. What can you expect?***

As you increase wisdom with age you will understand that in a 15 team league, only people that can afford tickets and travel go to the tournament and that money makes all the difference, not location.

What about the folks that would go if it was say in Charlotte? I would go to Charlotte but definitely not going to Maryland.

Clemson, GT, Miami, FSU and the NC schools would probably be better represented in a better location.

I am assuming that would be the case, not certain.

And they have never ever had it or even considered the state of SC. It is just the principle of the thing with the stupid ACC. JUst like they have let the SEC take Atlanta for the football championship. All they ever cared about was keeping hoops in NC for the most part

NC has always seemed like a natural fit imo geographically, but then you have the issue with the advantages it presents to the NC schools with less travel and more fans.

Probably complaining about getting shot in DC for being out after 9:30 pm. Just wait till they move it to Omaha to help the new blood with travel as a gesture of good faith.

Greenville would be a good central location for the ACC tournament.

Greenville yes but that will never happen. With the new western teams coming it may go further west a time or two in the future like Dallas.

Many years back it was hard to keep me away from the Charlotte Coliseum when it was on Tyvola Rd on a Thursday of ACC tourney week. See all 8 teams in one afternoon and probably 4 of them would be ranked.
Good times!

Just because Maryland is no longer in the ACC, DC has big UVA and VT alumni, plus Syracuse, Boston College, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame are all in the ACC when thinking about a central location. I went to the DC Clemson Alumni function last night with Board of Trustees Chair and our AD. Clemson has 5500 alumni in the DC area and 1300 current students from the DMV area.

Probably explains why 80% of these mentioned schools alumni have dressed as empty seats so far and it cost more to get a Coke and hotdog at the game than to get seats for a family of 4. Absolutely horrible decision to hold the tournament in the backyard of a former ACC school where anyone when any common sense knows the arena will be 50% empty. Instances like this and the horrible embarrassing additions to the conference starting next year, it’s almost as if there is willful intent to destroy the conference
