NCAA needs to limit the amount of transfers a school..

can take in. It’s understandable why some players transfer, but it’s ridiculous to have guaranteed starters to be bouncing around from school to school. And only one transfer should be allowed, after that they should have to sit a year if they want to transfer again. This is college football not free agency in the pros.

Terrible, terrible for the schools. In the long run equally bad for most athletes using it,

you didn't hear BAMA, UGA, OSU , USC, Oregon, Texas etc etc etc ever complain about turning the transfer system into a revolving door.
If a coach says anything the Mickey Mouse network ridicules them like Dabo.

NCAA knew NIL was coming and threw their hands up. Yes student athletes have the right to change schools. Yes student athletes should be compensated for the risk they take. But these two truths can not exist in a vacuum where the governing body (NCAA) throws its hands up. It does hurt a lot of players ultimately.

Considering that many high school kids start their college careers already having earned numerous college credits, completing some degree programs in 2.5 to 3 years is not unusual.

This is worse than free agency in the pros. At least the pros know how long they have a player under contract. With this crap, you might not even keep a player for a season.

That is the current rule. One no penalty transfer, then you sit for a year after unless you are a graduate. However, I think the NCAA has allowed waivers so once again that organization can’t even get that right.

100% agree. Limit to one transfer and lose one year of eligibility when they move. We have lost sight of the value of a college education.

I don't know if DJU is the best example to support your statement. I wouldn't blame any of the OSU and WSU students for transfering. They committed to play for a lesser school in the Pac12. That is not what they are getting now. They don't even know what they're getting! They have no conference and their coach just jumped ship. Why should the student athletes have to stay put in this kind of circumstance? This wouldn't be a jump for NIL, hot coach, more playing time, etc. OSU alumni Jonathan Smith was able to leave for MSU to get away from this situation. His players should have that option as well.

They also say that DJ “rebuilt himself” at OSU this season.
Did ANYONE see anything different than what we saw his two years at Clemson? Same player, same stats, same record. I see what I saw here.

That "transfer" can be attributed to graduation. He could still move once without penalty.

ESPN's incessant meddling and overhype of certain aspects of college football needs to stop. If they want to cover games and report stories- fine but they go far beyond that many times to favor or disfavor certain schools or conferences. Their meddling and the NCAA's blundering are wrecking what can be an enjoyable sport

Actually Holiday Bowl is the only ACC Bowl on FOX. Gator is ESPN. Not sure which one is ahead of the other in picks.

Holiday Bowl from what I’ve read. The Gator wants to pick Clemson but don’t expect the Holiday to pass on us.

Applying free market principles only works in sports if you properly define the product. Players are not the product. Teams are not the product. The competition between teams is the product. Whatever maximizes the value of that competition is what the market requires.

college players are not part of the free capitalist market... college sportsts overall are...
if they want to be in the free market make them employee's and see how they like it...
The whole thing is going to collapse on itself if the economy keeps going in the current direction and prices continue to escalate.

That's not going to work for DJ. I have come to the realization that DJ cannot play with large crowds. Look at his 2 starts his freshman year, both with empty stadiums. Oregon State stadium only holds 36K and most ofthe time it was not filled. With the exception of UCLA and USC (real) the stadiums in the Pac-12 are small in comparison to even the smallest in the ACC.

Their games against Utah and Washington were at home 37k & 38k attendance respectively. Their stadium capacity 43k. None of his games had crowds of 60k or more, but Oregon seems to be known as a tough place to play.
2023 Away game attendance Per ESPN @ San Jose St.: Attendance 20,337; Capacity 30,456
@ Washington St.: Attendance 33,111; Capacity 32,952
@ Cal: Attendance 34,930; Capacity 62,467
@ Arizona: Attendance 45,782; Capacity 50,780
@ Colorado: Attendance 52,726; Capacity 50,183
@ Oregon: Attendance 59,987; Capacity 54,000
(they really don't seem to have a strong grasp on what "capacity" means out there)
