Can we run on UGA's D?

We certainly won't rip 'em like Bama did.
If we can't run on them, it may not matter how green their DBs are.

as much as we will. Will force their secondary and LB's to stay honest.

We can, but maybe not in the conventional way that Bama did. We'll probably have to use sweeps & screens, and QB runs in addition to running the ball in the traditional sense to open up 1 on 1 opportunities for our WRs

Not sure I understand the concern

They have new faces at all three levels on their D and our run offense, which improved a lot last year, should get their yards now that we have big bruisers coming in Dye and Gallman with the speedy back in McDowell. Also we'll get our yards on sweeps, zone reads, called QB runs, etc. And thus they'll have to respect the run and then we'll burn them deep.

"big bruisers" ?- Dye may be 10 lbs heavier - Gallman - 190
Apr 8, 2013, 4:38 PM

I don't know why they are being called "big bruisers" - I would like to see a really "big bruiser" or maybe these guys have the frame to get bigger? Anyway, I am enthused about the way Hot Rod has grown into an exciting back right before our eyes. As long as he is not injured, I think he could even be better than Ellington? Hope so? GO TIGERS! Also, the improved offensive line looks like they are opening up bigger holes in our practices and our defensive line is very good!

Not trying to be over confident or cocky, but I truly feel that our O will make their D our little B/tch. Inexperienced D, first game of the season in DV???
Those kids will look like deers in headlights!
I know our D will be better than theirs and we'll do enough to contain Gershall enough to pull off the win.

Haha put Darrell Smith at RB 6'1 250 knows the plays and beig a SR should have ball security and knows pass blocking. Do this at certain times to keep them guessing.

Not a burner but for a short yardage back would be fine in certain situations.

answer: I don't think you guys will run on our D that much. we got a new D-line coach Chris Wilson who was at Miss St. before UGA. Even Though he was the Defensive coordinator at Miss St. and fell down to D line coach, I believe he will carry out his responsibilities at UGA. If he doesn't we will fire him...

with a good O. Look at last year's schedule. If/when Clemson's D starts dominating and coupled with the pace of our O, things could get ugly quick in some games. Dawgs should be more concerned about our D than who they're replacing on their own D. Our front seven will be Top 10 material and once the secondary settles in, our D may get more media coverage than the O.

mind that we will be able to run the ball, esp. with the talent we have at the wr/te positions, to keep lb's/cb's/ and safeties honest, and the rb's are fast/quick enough to exploit the de's that want to speed rush. our o-line will be able to open up holes to let our running game open up our passing game against an inexperienced ( at the VERY least as a unit) defensive team.

So that explains why clemson only has two ACC titles in the last 20 years......the conference made you guys play half your games in opposing stadiums. I so understand now. Mean ole ACC.
