Why not Franchise College FB Teams

The BIG and the SEC should join forces and each conference equally divide the top 32 college teams in the nation. Form a East Division and a west division and each university would own and operate (and sell, if they wished) each team as a franchised team. Just like the NFL. It's sole purpose would be to make money. The league would sell all media rights to broadcast, all advertising rights to merchandise, etc. In short it would be a new NFL league but owned by the 2 conferences. Have their own playoffs and Super duper bowl. That's pretty much where it's headed. May as well get it there now and franchise it. If Jeff Bezos wanted to buy the Tigers for billions of dollars, and rename it the Amazon Tigers sell it to him.

I’m pretty sure that’s where everyone says it’s heading. Just have to time up the finishing of media rights deals before they do it, but no more than 5-10 years away. Then let the small market schools go back to something resembling college football

western world in its view of themselves. What better way to do so than paying for educational institution sports rights?

This could be done probably cheaper than the money they've currently spent on golf. And this would be targeted well.

Aggies get more oil money by Texas law than the Arabs have...why do you think they have all of those large ugly buildings on campus...the PUF in Texas made sure that UT & TAMU got most of the state oil money and the aggies just kept building!

The NFL has, in college football, a totally free minor league system where they can evaluate talent while the players physically mature enough to play in the NFL.

NFL is the franchisor and each NFL team is a franchisee.

Let’s skip over the student athlete aspect of college football and just look at the business model, the NFL has knocked it out of the park.
