Cade's Throw - Can one of you math wizzes out there tell me

if this accurate?
Cade released the ball from our own 23 yard line.
Turner caught it on the UNC 23
That's a linear difference of 54. He was about 1 yard inside the right hash. The space between the hashes is 40', so he was 37 feet from the left hash. The left hash is 60' from the side line. Turner was about 2 yards from the side line so about (60 + 37) - 6 is 91 linear feet east to west which is right at 27 linear yards. Throw was at about a 45 degree angle so cut that in half. 13.5 yards. 54 + 13.5 = 67.5 yards.
I'm no mathematician so maybe one can come along and tell me this is wrong.
Edit. I was using a bad denominator.
East to west would have been 30.33 yards. half of that is 15.15ish. 54 + 15.15 is 69.15
Obviously still wrong. I have no idea what I'm doing.

Ah I see what I did wrong. I got yard and meter confused and multiplied by 3.28. Thanks for the link.

you know how girls talk.
A[squared] + B[squared] is equals to the hypotenuse, or the 3rd leg of the right triangle.
Sorta like cutigerbob®being a tripod, only different.
Yes, 60ft is the college number.
https://www.omnicalculator.com/math/right-triangleRight triangle calculator helps you find the sides and area of a right triangle.

Using your numbers
Dec 5, 2022, 12:59 PM
|
|
SQRT(54^2 + 27^2) = 60.4 yds
SQRT (54^2 + 30.3^2) = 61.9 using the updated number

I don't know maffs very well but I know if the #5 had thrown it, it would have been either short of the ACC logo or out of the back of the endzone.

Here's my calculation. 60.4 yards.

Using your figures and the Pythagorean Theorem I get just over 60 yards in air.
sqrt(54^2 + 27^2) = 60.4 approximately.

It's actually 30 yards and not 27. I got that wrong.
so what is sqrt(54^2 + 30.33^2)?
