Got my first one last weekend. I'm getting more returns on my tomato and pepper plants than retirement funds.

That is a BLT, not a mator sandwitch -

I like my BLTs with Dukes on both bread slices, onion, and don't refuse a slice of ham.

For those that have never eaten tomatoes and Mayo, I can only imagine 2 things that could cause that,
1. You were born above the Mason-Dixon line or the Midwest. and 2. Your parents neglected you as a child.

Simple Tomato sammich recipe..

White bread, Mayo of your choice, sliced tomatoes peppered.

Spread Mayo (of your choice) onto 2 slices of bread. Pepper the tomato slices. Put slices in between mayoed sliced bread.

someone doesn’t like tomato’s. Both of my parents loved tomato’s and had them often as I grew up. Wouldn’t touch them until I was about 22. There’s that.

Re: Brunch

I just put my store bought tomato plants in the ground last week. Had to wait for the 12" of snow I got three weeks ago to melt (Colorado at 7,380' elevation), and the low temp that accompanied the snow of 24 degrees to warm up some. Why bother? Guess I just want to feel "normal". :) I do buy Duke's mayonnaise out here.

Colorado

Jun 12, 2022, 2:42 PM

In SC mators can be planted after last frost, but do best when the ground temps reach 65degrees.
They come in the last weeks of June and first weeks of July.

Mator plants don't like SC Summer heat. They shut down and crank back up in the Fall. Then the new mators don't have time to ripen before frost and so we have 'fried green tomatoes" which are tasty.
Where you are, the growing season may actually be longer than here.
