So...where are the "Bring Penn State to the ACC" guys?

NM.

I'm sure there won't be many right now. What's your point?***

null

I believe they've been BBQ'd at the NCAA's "All In" banquet.***

I'd still take them . . .

Jul 23, 2012, 9:58 AM

but not allow them to compete until 2017.

I'd still take them too. Yeah they won't be very good for ten years (they'll still probably be middle of the road for ACC), but they'll recover and you'll have a 110,000 person stadium and a huge fanbase in the ACC. Long-term benefits far outweigh the short.

I originally was for it (when we first added Pitt and Cuse)

Jul 23, 2012, 9:59 AM

I admit it. No way in H*** I would want them now. But I'm not ashamed to have thought well of their program before all this went down. Everybody thought they were a respectable program.

Some people still wanted them even after all this first came out.

Bring them in. Give them a fresh start.

Jul 23, 2012, 10:06 AM

It would make a heck of a feel good story for Penn State to respectfully rise from the ashes in a new league.

Most of you.

I agree.

Jul 23, 2012, 10:31 AM

The crimes can't be undone, but the individuals responsible are gone. Penn State is a tremendous academic school with a huge alumni base and would be a very good school for the ACC to have in the long run.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sounds to me like they are now advocating doing that

Jul 23, 2012, 10:09 AM

one player at a time.... with each school getting a player or two.

I'm still here and I believe in the long term PSU to the ACC

Jul 23, 2012, 10:22 AM

is a positive.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't really see the point of 16 team conferences, but

Jul 23, 2012, 10:28 AM

if the conference were to add more teams, its hard to see a better candidate in the ACC's footprint than Penn State.

A huge school with a large following and great academics. They won't be the first or last team to get put on probation , USC is just getting off theirs and they are a national title contender. Obviously PSU's punishments are more severe, but they will bounce back in the future especially considering they weren't cheating to win in the first place.

PSU is going to be on probation until 2015. Funny how that is the same time the Notre Dame TV contract runs out with NBC. It would be good to add them both starting in 2016. Then the ACC would be as marketabler as the SEC.
