For attempting any forward passes. That may have been the ugliest display of forward passing I have ever seen besides watching an Army-Navy game.

212 in the air for both QB’s

Rushing 219 for the good guys

57 for SC…. That my friends is winning football.

My only complaint was not running it 15 more times….

Danny Ford was famous for running the football. I think it was after the UNCheat game the year we went on to win the natty, he was asked why we only threw it 5 times. He said, "That was 5 times too many".

However, as the Tigers have amply demonstrated over the past couple of years, bad things can result in the ground game also.

1. Terrible exchanges.
2. Fumbles.
3. Tackles for loss.
4. Holding penalties.
5. Lousy blocking.

Just to mention a few. Both passing the ball AND running the ball require talent, precision, execution, and a bit of good fortune. I love Danny Ford, but his unwillingness to use the pass probably hurt in a few games where the bad guys were stacking the box and our run game didn't click. If we had a decent passing attack now we might be 11-1.
