We seem to have a couple of plays where the right tackle is assigned to block the defensive tackle, leaving the DE free run into the backfield. I saw this in the Auburn game and thought it would get corrected, but we did it again several times last night and it cost us yards just about every time. Not sure if our tackle is missing his assignment or the coaches haven't recognized this as an issue, but something is wrong. I mean, if you have a DE right on the shoulder of the tackle, and you don't have a back or guard pulling to take care of him, you're in deep trouble if the tackle doesn't block him!
Just saying, not sure it's the tackle's fault, maybe the play calls for him to block down on the DT.
Good catch. That one play that Feaster got the ball, and was immediately met by an un-blocked DE. That play needs to be fixed. The blocker seemed to run away from the play instead of blocking for Feaster.
