Looks like that the AD not pulling the move. Been there 6 seasons. Might be having the worst season ever, but were decent the first 5 seasons. Had a couple of huge injuries. Can recruit better since NCAA cloud is behind them now,so maybe that is why he is coming back.
Hope this doesn't effect Clemson making the right move this spring.

They got hit with injuries early if I recall correctly. Maybe even b4 season.

I am kinda shocked they have him a pass. Even with the NCAA issues being Gott(fired), they stunk this year and that has been the trend too considering last year. Injuries, sure, but they have lost to UNC by a combined 30 points this seasons.
I mean, they have been ties or behind Clemson in 4 of their last five seasons. We have had the better ACC record in that time I *think*
I mean if there is one program that makes impulsive bad decisions outside of cootlumbia....

So why do you feel like they should fired him, but Brad can stay? They would have gone to the NCAAT for sure when it was shut down that season with over 20 wins. That is two in five years. yet, you want to hold on to Brad Brownell?

State has two national championships and expectations.... and a garbage trucks full of meth. They have not won the ACC since 1987. They ran Herb out. They are not rational decision makers.
They were on the cusp in 19-20. Weak OOC schedule despite being 10-10 in conference and 20-12 overall. They were only one game better that us in acc that year and they were 5-7 down the stretch. Sure, the name "NC State" might have gotten them in but Brad has had a better season and was left out.
My thing is that Keatts is trending in the wrong direction and now has a losing record in conference play.
Is he the guy to finally break NC State out of the CoachK/Williams shadow. I don't think so. I like Keatts but I did not expect NC State to keep him. My guess, they want to do some talking (or have been and did not get who they wanted) before making the jump. Again, it isn't that I think NC State should or shouldn't keep him, I don't care. It is more that I am kinda shocked that they did retain him.

The leadership at the top is puzzling... extend and pay raise DD for NOT going to Charlotte yet we can't figure out how to buy out Keatts. I liked Keatts in the beginning but the program is trending south IN A HURRY.

I agree with you. I know Bates was a huge loss and the two other guys including the good transfer forward from Providence, but as good as some players you have, don't get why you are not better than a team that doesn't even compete at home.
Is recruiting getting better for Keatts now with the NCAA cloud gone?
I think that is a sign that Brad will be back also...

OK, I hear you. Yeah, people don't realize that ADs will look into coaches' agents behind the scenes discreetly to gear interest.
Hope Clemson is doing the same thing.

Nc state is a hilarious example of how firing your coach may not be a good thing.
Hey fired herb sendek after going to the tourney 5 years in a row. 16 years later they have been through 3 coaches and are currently dead last in the ACC.
