DC WES in that he changed up from a blitzing scenario with a 4-man line and went to a 3-man front near end of 2nd qtr which gave up an easy TD.
Plus, he said that QB Travis didn’t connect well with his two best tall WR’ers in 1st half due to the 4-man rush & blitz package and when WES didn’t change back to that in 2nd half then Travis started getting more time and hitting his targets steadily.
And on the OT TD pass there was no strong rush or blltz either and our defender was in a bad match-up and that Wiggins being out killed us since he’d covered that play & WR’er well all day.
Bottom line to his rant was that WES took what was working and changed was not broken.
And, about the same thing could be said for the OC when he allowed Cade to option the call on 3rd & 1 rather than go for the 1 yd needed with a run up the middle or off tackle.
Nuff said, we lost when we might have been able to win. Congrats to FSU~

I'm not a Wes fan, but you have to give him and the defense credit for only allowing 10 other points in regulation. Our defense only gave up 17 points to what is supposed to be a great offense. There is absolutely, positively, no earthly way that this loss is because of Wes Goodwin or the defense.

realize our kicking game was iffy back last spring, and go straight to the soccer team for the solution.
Secondly, as Dabo said, who in the thunder allows a relatively inexperienced QB an option on a critical short yardage play. It's called "anticipation"...a key military trait of sound leadership, meaning you know the possibilities and take steps to counter the bad. That was a failure of the staff last night.
Thirdly, I'm obviously a huge Dabo supporter...I know what he's done for Clemson. However, I'm not convinced that he has given Riley much leeway yet. I think he has him on a short leash, which is precisely what I think happened with Streeter. It's OK for the Head Coach to involve himself in game development and play; it's a bad trait to over-involve, and that's why I believe we haven't seen doodley squat of any type of air raid offense.
Lastly, overall I thought our defense played relatively well, other than several miscues on the staff's part. I hope Dabo and his defensive coordinators can strive mightily to overcome critical failure lapses. They need to do so in a hurry, as the talent is there.

Its true that was a coaching mistake, but there were MORE coaching mistakes on offense than on defense. It was an easily winable game that we threw away. Oh well.
