"Big Weigh In" this week. Interested in a few guys progress

Jul 27, 2014, 8:14 PM

Coaches have already hinted at the weight of some guys, but you never really know until you see for yourself. These are the guys I'm interested in seeing from a weight gain/loss standpoint:

Vic Beasley - Was 232 lbs this time last year. He says he's 235, but the coaches say he's 240-245. We'll see.

Deshaun Watson - Coaches say he's 204 lbs now. Not sure if I buy that

Jayron Kearse - Was 207 last year. He's said he wants to play at 215-220 this year. Not sure he's met that goal

Isaiah Battle - Was in the high 270's last year. Coaches say he's still about the same. He should be 290 by now.

Wayne Gallman - Was just under 200 lbs last year. Needs to be about 210 right now. Coaches have hinted he's more like 205.

Zac Brooks - Was 197 lbs last year. Notorious for not being able to gain weight. He looks bigger. We'll see if he is

Adrian Baker - Was 167 lbs last year (lightest guy on the team). It'll be a win if he's 175 or more

Tyrone Crowder & David Beasley - Both of these guy routinely tip the scales at over 340 lbs. They need to be 320 to be effective for us.

Here is the weigh in from last year http://www.clemsontigers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=28500&ATCLID=208905761

Yeah, find it hard to believe Beasley is still that light...

He must not have an ounce of fat on him...

He needs to spend a couple of weeks with me. He'd be 250, but probably too lazy to play.

I could be wrong, but it seems like I read a while back that

Crowder had worked hard and slimmed down a little, closer to desired playing weight. By all accounts he's a monster in the weight room and I expect him to be in the rotation this year.

Amen to that!

I'm also curious about Mike Williams' weight as well

Jul 27, 2014, 9:55 PM

He was like 198 lbs at this point last year. At his height and frame, he'll probably end up about 225 at the end of his college career. He looks more like he's about 210-215 now based on his instagram pictures.

Not sure where you are getting your info, but Crowder is nowhere, even remotely close to 340...... not even sure if he is 300, and I doubt it.... I was just with many of those guys a few weeks ago.
