What no one us willing to say and recognize is that we are broke compared to most of the top of the SEC and Big TEN.... and big schools like FSU and Miami. We have to ut together a "Great Value" team when it comes to the portal.

around $3.5-4.5 Million. Texas, for comparison, spent $15 million. Even if those numbers are skewed a little, we are nowhere near that ballpark. And if Texas needs more, it is most likely out there for the taking, which is another major difference.

$135 million to IPTAY in 2023. Not exactly “poor”. Now, I don’t expect us to have the funds to compete with Texas, Oregon, or Ohio State. That is one of the reasons Dabo is doing things differently and like many other things Dabo does, it is what makes Clemson special. Do you want to put everything we have in to trying to keep up or take a different approach to reaching the top?

Yeah I imagine its all Dabo can do to keep his current team intact, much less add any heavy hitters from the portal. If you think Dabos NIL is sitting on a mountain of cash he'd rather leave in the bank than use to bring in difference makers you're probably delusional.

We're not getting anyone with any star power from the Portal out of a major school, that's a bidding war we'll never enter. Idk think it has anything to do with the money, boosters, sponsers...etc for it, I just think Clemson as a whole wants no part of that game and will continue to do it Dabo's way. If we ever get anyone it'll be someone in a lower D1 school or in D2 that's just looking to compete for a starting job on Power 5 team and/or contender for more National spotlight. The main thing for Clemson is to continue to recruit well and to keep those guys who are contributers at Clemson. Obviously players will transfer out if the PT isn't there or they are getting passed on the depth chart.
