There is no way Cade enters the portal after tonight unless our coaches do something unbelievable. I was scared that Cade would be so frustrated after this year that he leaves Clemson even if he had some plays in ACCCG and Bowl. But he is given the green light for starter in the Bowl and you can tell he is super pumped. He loves Clemson.

Unfortunately it is very likely that DJ leaves as not a winner in football but leaves with a degree. If the rumors are correct that he leaves to play football 1yr with his little brother at California, that's a giant win for him. Gets a Clemson degree, gets a chance to build his craft, and gets a year to play with his brother at a P5 school. Maybe having the family support helps his fragility as that seems to be his biggest hurdle.

largely be a backup this year.

Despite DJ's problems I don't see Cade as being some petulant, spiteful glory-hog, ready to hop a flight back home just because he perceived himself to be some savior for our program.

Seems, also, Cade has built some tight relationships at Clemson with teammates, including Dabo's sons.

Cade is not the type of person/player to enter the portal.

He’s not a quitter; not in his DNA.
