idea it was to try the trick play at that juncture of the game? I really have very little faith in that coach going forward. In a way, I hope it was Dabo, because it would kind of ruin my positive impression of CM, if it was him.
On the other hand, there's zero chance that Dabo's leaving, so I might prefer to know it was CM. Either way, Dabo approved it. The timing of it is what I didn't like.

seems we were moving it ok and may have scored without it. seems like once there is an early turnover with us they just keep coming.

My god, at least they didn't return a FG attempt for a game winning TD.

I'm more proud and happier with the very long steady drive we had that led to a rushing TD. That's a well played drive and a good offense. Trick plays, especially when used early without a clear strategy to set up the play, seem to me to just be gambling. And the execution?? If we knew we were going to include that play on the first drive, Sammy should have been throwing as many passes as necessary in practice so he'd throw a sharp pass and not float it.

it was a trick play, but it was part of the game plan.... Chad knew had to get the ball to Sammy as much as possible to be successful. But he knew Tajh wasn't going to have a lot of time to sit back & pass. Hense first play of the game was a quick pass to Sammy in the flats. USC knew this was Chad's plan so they were playing Sammy tight at the LOS. The trick play was to take advantage of USC keying in on Sammy, but also to let USC know that Sammy had options, which would have made the defenders sit back a little. the gameplan was also based on the assumption that Rod wouldn't be as successful running the ball, which was false. Hindsight, you don't run the trick play w/ Sammy because you had the run that should open up Sammy.

The best trick plays come at times when they're unexpected.

The play was a perfect time to be called, it was poor execution on Sammy's part when he floated it and very poor execution on Adam's part for not ensuring it wasn't an interception.
It was a good call, and it was Chad Morris' call. I don't understand why you have a positive impression on Chad Morris, all of our losses are because his system isn't working against top 20 defenses.

player error screwed it up. Like if a player fumbles after a long run or catch. Humphries was open by 15 yards. Sammy should have thrown it shorter and towards the sideline, not in the endzone toward the middle of the field where the safety was.

interception.
there is only one marching order on that play, DO NOT turn it over.
glad ellington understood it when he tucked the ball and tried to make something happen with his feet instead of throwing up a punt.

I just have logic and observation. If the same thing happens no matter who the OC is, then it must be the HC's call.

The burden of proof is often associated with the Latin maxim semper necessitas probandi incumbit ei qui agit, the best translation of which seems to be: "the necessity of proof always lies with the person who lays charges."[1]
Just so we're all on the same page.
