Apr 16, 2013, 1:36 PM

I think the bridge program is a terrific program designed to help students succeed in meeting the academic requirements necessary to transfer to Clemson.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

This is far from a bad thing. It is increasingly hard to get into Clemson. Without the program, we could be in the same boat with South Carolina and having to lower our admission standards in order to accept more in-state students. I know many people who have excelled because of the program, which also brings extra income into Clemson as well.

First off, I knew a few kids that went through the Bridge Program when I went to Clemson and they were all prepared for what Clemson offered academically. Some were legacies that didn't have the initial grades to get in with everyone else so they were given the chance to improve their grades in order to get to Clemson by attending Tri-County. Others were people right on the boarder of acceptance either due to grades or other factors such as weak high school class schedule so Clemson gave them a chance to prove themselves with Tri-County. I don't know of any kids that went through the Bridge Program that doesn't LOVE Clemson. They might have had offers from other universities but instead they still chose a chance at attending Clemson.

Second, if you are going to make fun of President Barker for making the program that has helped thousands of students get into and graduate from Clemson then you might want to know the difference between there, their, and they're. I'm sure Tri-County could help you out with that.

the people that start at TCTC, still get a diploma that says Clemson when they graduate. It's a great way to get into Clemson and save alot of money in the process, if you can't get in the first time.
