Had just lost a close game to Aub which knocked them out of both the SECCG and the MNC. Tide went to a BCS Bowl versus a 10-2 Mich State team and won 49-7.

They didn't go to a BCS bowl that year--they went to the Capital One Bowl.

Bama's bowl performance that year was impressive, but it was not a BCS game. And it was against a Big 10 team, so that really shouldn't count, anyway...

No they weren't...They lost 3 games that year, they weren't

in the running for the SEC CG or the BCS CG when they played Auburn and they didn't play MSU in a BCS bowl...other than that....Spot on...

Yep, I forgot about their loss to LSU that year. Thanks for correcting me, getting old I suppose, need to not rely on memory anymore. Sucks getting old :)
