Athletic Leadership at Clemson

These are trying and dangerous times in the business of college athletics, especially college football.

The athletic leadership at Clemson must make a major decision. The decision is:

1) Stay in the ACC (to do nothing is a major decision);
2) Align with another conference that emphasizes college
football.

I don't believe a major shake-up in the leadership of the ACC will mean anything. The ink is already dry to the new contract Swofford negotiated and it is not a good one, but ACC members are bound by it.

Because of that new contract, I believe FSU will leave. The Noles are not going to put up with this league's emphasis on college basketball. The departure of FSU will severely diminish what little football clout the ACC has and I believe will force the athletic leadership at Clemson to make their major decision.

Change is difficult. The status quo is always much easier when it comes to making decisions. I am optimistic and believe the leadership at Clemson sees the handwriting on the wall and is already road mapping change.

Time will tell, and that time will be sooner rather than later.

My dad said back in the 70s that Clemson (pardon the pun)

was chicken #### that they didnt leave the ACC then.

That Clemson would have gone to the SEC in the early 90s.

my question is "Are we risking it again?

Are we so scared not to make a move?
