As usual, ESPiN blows it again.

They are pondering the question of Saban being the best coach ever. In order for Saban to become the 'BEST COACH EVER,' he probably ought to be the best coach Alabama has ever had. He isn't. Saban could not have done what Saban has done at Alabama without Bear Bryant having done what he did there.

That is the elephant in the room, folks. The kinetic energy at Bama was there and had been for decades, waiting and building energy as football grew in popularity across the nation. Saban is a good coach but I have seen little evidence that he could take UTC or Furman and win the world five times. Until someone does we won't see a 'Best Coach Ever.'

If any of you are thinking of insulting one of Dabo's predecessors by declaring him the best coaches we've ever had you'd better be talking about Ken or one of the Tommys. Don't take this wrong, I love me some Dabo. He has etched a spot in my football heart for eternity. Frankly, neither Dabo nor Saban build their houses on sand, both had solid foundations on which to build.

Saban and Dabo have built well upon the foundations they inherited. Without doubt they are the best two coaches in the country right now. I'm glad we got the younger one who is the tallest, best looking and nicest of the two. :)

Alabama will have a good team as long as ESPiN pushed them as the best ever. That has to create a gathering of great players. I considered discussing that topic, the effect ESPiN being network brownie buddies with the SEC but Dabo and some other coaches have just about ended the joy of that incestous relationship.

Very difficult to compare football in the early days of Bryant with today's game. Different game entirely with different players. Saw my first football game in the 50's and believe me it isn't the same game as I will watch later today.
Don't compare Saban with Bryant or any other coaches sixty plus years ago. Dabo is no John Heisman and that's a good thing!

You are dumb as hell. What Saban has done in this day in age is amazing. He is the best coach ever. When he started at Bama they were losing to UL Monroe.

What are you, like 25?

Dood, you've removed all doubt that you are ignorant of Alabama's history. The fans were there and so was the history.

You call someone a name because you disagree with them?
