As my sophomore daughter makes her first ACC road trip

I have a couple of questions specifically for alumni:
1) As a student at Clemson, how many away games did you go to (bowls/playoffs not included)? 2) What was your most memorable of those trips, whether in terms of on the field or off the field action?
I went to Maryland in 1986, VT in 1987, Wake in 1988, FSU and SCAR in 1989
For me, it has hands down FSU, both on and off the field. Great memories and stories from all.
Safe travels, sweetheart, to you and all students traveling to GT and living your best lives!

But I can certainly understand you citing this one…wish I had been a student then.
Only Clemson bowl game I went to was Gator Bowl vs West Virginia. Doesn’t compare to yours, but a great memory still. “They’re killing my baby!”
Also went to SCAR-LSU Gator Bowl. That was fun, too. As I recall the Coots were down two TDS less than 2 minutes in.

Couldn't afford to go anywhere and if a guy on my hall hadn't taken me down and let me stay at his parent's I wouldn't have made that trip.
That was the infamous game where the fraternity came out in the fake uniforms. Darn good prank, but I wasn't one of guys who headed down to fight a bunch of guys in football gear.

was a student, because we didn't make any bowl games those years! (1968-71)
My first away game was down to Cootlumbia in 1977 for the unforgettable "The Catch" game, then made my first bowl game a few weeks later, to see us get blown out by Pitt in the Gator Bowl!

Went to SCAR in 1981. Had a good friend in school there.

Got in to the game on a SCAR student ticket and someone else's student ID who looked nothing at all like me. Watched their fans toss hip flasks at our players and took off for the Clemson sections. Never been there again for a game (did go there for FarmAid once).
Go Tigers!!!

1970 Georgia, GT, FSU 1971 GT, Auburn, Virginia (In Richmond), Usuck 1972 Rice, GT, WF, Maryland 1973 Georgia, GT, Usuck
I went to 3 away games every year by being in Tigerband.
I went to Auburn in 1971 by myself and it was Auburn's homecoming . Heisman winner Pat Sullivan and Terry Beasley were on on that Auburn team that clobbered us.
Several band mates drove to Rice in Houston to be a pep band for the game.
