due to lowered blood flow & Oxygen according to Dr Amen the brain imaging pioneer who has imaged hundreds of thousands of brains of the living & dead.
He was hired by the NFL (in 2008?) to do research on brain injuries from violent hits & contact and his studies eventually got football (NFL & College) to make changes via better helmet design & rules.
Tom Brady had his brain imaged (Dr Amen will not elaborate about results) but told Tim that $88,000,000 was not going to buy him a new or healthy brain..
but he could do great things to make his brain operate better, such as: diet, nutrition, hydration, supplements, sleep, exercise, stress management, etc which Tom did and still does..and a solid reason he lasted as long as he did.
Also, football in the Midget or Peewee division across the country is down 50% b/c parents don’t want their child brain injured.

Lost weight, feel tons better. Humans digestive system is not designed to digest grains. During famine times about 20, 000 years ago to keep from starving, people began eating the seeds of grasses. Understandable, but disastrous to overall health.
Making the change is very difficult at first, but well worth it. Add in regular ingestion of fermented foods and I look and feel many years younger. Might be worth investigating.

As well as shrink in your brain, being obese also reduces the size of your genitalia in men. Should be great motivation for some of you to hit the gym.

Heard that, read that, and believe in it. Talk to enough parents last few years that are adamant about no football. Futbol , lacrosse, bball, golf etc are on the rise.
I imagine futbol will change at some point and require head gear because I believe the doc is now studying the impact of headers in futbol.

I agree with that particularly in middle class and upper middle class families.
The problem is most of their concerns are driven by hysteria rather than actual data. If you look at the actual data CTE is extremely rare unless your little Johnny plays up through the NFL (even college players have a remote chance). Keep in mind this data is also taken from the era where helmet to helmet contact was a regular occurrence. The rules now regarding contact, how practices are conducted, and the helmets are far better than they used to be.

I think some are adamant about no football because, like with many things, because they hear a story or stories, and take the information at face value rather than looking into it themselves. Or, worse yet, watched Concussion and are now experts.
My wife was the same way until we actually broke down our own experiences. I grew up in Texas and played football from the time I was 8 to the time I was 18 (Played OL/DL at points and eventually LB). She played soccer from the time that she was 5 until the time she was 18. While anecdotal, there was one of us who suffered 6 concussions, and the other one hadn't suffered any.
I think every sport has the potential for head injuries, especially some of these sports parents are now pushing their kids to (they wear helmets in those sports for a reason too), but I also think since this information has come to light, the research and money invested to make the game safer, and create equipment to mitigate these injuries, is light years from where it was just 10 years ago.

Kids are playing less sports or doing anything as real exercise are making them fat. Now just want to play video games and be phone warriors.
I have a question LBB. Is the overweight person's brain actually now smaller in dimensions and weight or is it just a proportional difference due to the weight and size of the overweight individual?

Kids need to get out and play and learn to get along with others.
I have mentioned this before but my wife is in education and some of these kids do not have a chance unless they have good grandparents. 4 and 5 year olds shouldn’t come to school reeking of pot. Bad behavior is not dealt with. Going to need to be some drastic changes in the near future. This current path is unsustainable imo.
I played outside every chance I got and got my butt whooped if I got out of line. I’m blessed and thriving.
