while filing out your bracket, you did not select Clemson to win? I was torn, because difficult to pull for Clemson if you did not select them to win (for purpose of winning the pool).
Have to pull for Clemson and take the loss in my bracket. On the other hand, it won't hurt as bad if New Mexico wins since consolation is point for my bracket.
This is the reason I can never bet against Clemson in football - so many times during DJU's days that Vegas was very kind to Clemson, when I could not see how we would cover - would have made $$.

You have to do two brackets won wishful thinking Clemson all the way, and one realistically accurate bracket with Clemson losing first round.

Hoping and what you fill in on paper are two different things.
I have them in the Sweet 16. Clemson is certainly capable of a deep run, but Basketball is strange (and wonderful) in that anything can happen. A “scrub” can get hot with 3’s and send the favored team home in a hurry.

I picked Clemson to advance in the first round. If they win, I get 1 point. If they lose, I lose 1 point. No big deal. I was not as favorable to the Tigers to advance further.

Taking the WR yards under was so difficult for me to do all season, but I did, and my wallet was thankful—won more than I lost.
Also had to do the same vs SC when we lost. Took DJU under passing, Williams under receiving, Rattler over passing, and Wells over receiving. Hated to do it, but made $50. Would’ve gladly lost $50 to win that game though…
Most of the time I don’t bet on Clemson games bc it can be extremely difficult to make sure the brain is making the decision instead of the heart.

Yes, bc our Clemson team has just as much of a chance of beating New Mexico as they have of beating Clemson, and especially if Clemson plays almost as good as they played against UNC @ UNC.
This Clemson team has the best group of players with as much talent as they've had in a very long time if not forever. They have had the most rest as they've had since playing a long grueling season against some pretty good ACC talent.
So IMHO, if you are claiming to be a die hard Clemson fan/man/or woman, you wouldn't bet against one of the most talented Clemson teams as we've had in maybe our history of Clemson basketball.
So, if you are actually asking for the truth, in my eyes you're not a very good one if you bet against them when the odds are about even of Clemson winning or losing, but, if Hall and Schieffelin plays a good game, New Mexico will need the 2 and half points that Clemson is getting with the odds makers.
I know with me I don't bet on nothing that could cost me dime, but I would never take another team over Clemson in any game of sports, never. But If I were a betting person that gambled, with as close as the odds are, I will take Clemson every single time, but that's just me and I love the Clemson Tigers, period!!!
