Our win over the ##### on Saturday was able to give the people of this great country what they truly wanted, JMU to make a bowl game. We didn't just win Saturday for us, we won for freedom, liberty, and this great country we call home.

we are when we play Alabama, but so is everyone else, we've just been able to beat them a couple of times to prevent them from adding to their self-designated 57 NCs.

I probably do not travel for business around the country as much as some Tnetters, but in my travels around over the last 10 - 15 years, every time I have on any Clemson gear someone stops me and says go Tigers.
I thought about this very same thing (being America's Team) and I think what we have is a Traditional American view of appreciation of the program Dabo runs where success of the program extends from putting the players and families first over just wins and losses. (result is actually more wins IMHO)
The secret sauce is that Dabo is openly Christian, and while a minority want to ridicule that aspect, there are far more that recognize our sovereign lord and savior and as such admire Dabo's ability to live it in such a high profile environment. I know my wife was touched by Dabo's unapologetic Christian life while she was on her journey to Jesus. She cared NOTHING for sports at all, but became a Clemson football fan due to Dabo and his style of coaching.
So if you factor in these things and randomly find a football fan in another part of the country, they likely root for Clemson as their secondary team. "I am a _____ grad and fan, but when they are not playing I pull for Clemson and watch them on TV"
I have heard this a lot traveling and even here on Tnet BretFSU is a great example of a fan with an appreciation for a team because of how it is run even when it is not your favorite team.
