That's what I heard as well. There had been rumors that it was Florida. I am hoping that Sully is not involved--which is the point of my question.

Amick didn’t leave for NIL - but now that he’s gone it doesn’t seem like he’s afraid of NIL either…

He didn't like getting pulled out of the lineup at the wrong time and he didn't like being solely a DH in our lineup. I'm guessing he also didn't mesh well with the coaching staff. He had a great season and got the big head and his ego wasn't being fed as much as he and his dad thought it should be.

Getting pulled in that game had nothing to do with it, we were 1 out away from just ending the game. If the pitching just got that final out, that wouldn't have even mattered. He started getting plenty of PT and would've gotten even more next year at 1B/DH, I would be more than willing that its strictly NIL related.

Their family is loaded. NIL is something to be leveraged but it is not the reason he is choosing to leave.

Well, first, I don't think anybody on this posting board knows for sure the true reason to why Amick is leaving. Second, I have seen no evidence whatsoever that NIL is even a contributing factor in why he is leaving (Maybe he wants NIL opportunities, maybe not--but where's the evidence?). Third, I'm waiting for either the Amick family or the Clemson staff to make a statement regarding his decision to transfer. I've yet to see anything.
In MHO, on the surface, playing time at a fielding position seems to be a component of his decision. Without a doubt, playing time at DH does not seem to be an issue. Several posts have indicated he wants to play at 3rd base, but have also indicated the coaching staff does not believe his fielding ability suffices to replace our current starter. Others indicate his playing time at 1st base would increase next year. However, that would seem to be true only if Grice does not return next year, or if Grice moves to another playing position on the days he is not pitching.
However, I know my "opinion" is only important to me. I truly don't know why Amick is transferring, and I have no evidence that anybody else on this board knows either. Again, I'm waiting for either the Amick family or the Clemson staff to make a statement regarding Amick's decision to transfer. And based on past postings on this board, even Amick family or Clemson staff statements wouldn't necessarily satisfy a lot of Clemson board posters.
In any case, even if we find out why Amick decided to transfer, what does it matter???? The decision has been made (right, wrong, or indifferent), and the Clemson staff will need to make moves/decisions to respond to that decision.

I actually heard that Coastal May make a run. Got some fat cat real estate guy down there with lots of bucks. Plus life at the beach and still close to home
