Anyone know why they did not use the tie breaker rule

in today's softball game and place a runner at 2nd in the extra inning? They did yesterday but not today. Just curious.

It's agreed on either before a tournament or between the teams before the game. Not sure what was agreed on but it's most commonly used if the teams are playing a doubleheader or playing more than one game a day. I would suspect they agreed not to do that today since it was a single matchup.

It's mandatory if a game goes to 10 innings to implement the international rule. Both coaches had to agree beforehand. Personally, I don't like it.
