Anyone know Durham hotel ideas for Duke game on a budget

We are coming in from way out of the area and would like to go. Doesn't have to be near by but want to find something decent and safe but not plush. At this point I guess we are down to buying tixs from Duke. We are hoping to stay over from game night only. Thanks for any insights

We are staying at the Comfort Inn and Suites. We booked on booking.com and got a great deal.

I have never even been to Durham. Been in Chapel Hill guessing I should have went through there to at least check it out seeing I was so close.

I got a room on Booking.com for the "Lodge at Duke Medical Center". Very convenient to The Duke campus and ratings were 7.5 to 8 out of 10. With taxes was about $150 for the night.
Last time we played Duke, we stayed at the Millenium which was fine. Close to campus but it appears it may have gone down hill some based on the latest reviews.

I'd look at Comfort Inn, Hyatt, and La Quinta.
The La Quinta on 15-501 was renovated not too long ago and seemed decent.
There are a bunch of hotels on 15-501 between Durham and Chapel Hill which are probably 10 minutes from the football stadium.
Most of them were built in the last 10 years.
I honestly doubt they raise prices for Duke football weekends so as long as UNC isn't home you should be fine.
By the way, if you have Chase Universal Reward points, you can transfer them to Hyatt almost instantly and the transfer is 1:1.
Most Hyatt rooms are 8000 points (basically $80 if 100 points ~ $1).
When we went to the ACC championship games in Charlotte I was able to get a $400 room for 8000 points.

Wherever you end up, take all valuables with you leaving nothing of value in your car. That and be careful in the parking lots at night.
