The SEC doesn't need two teams from North Carolina; it's about the tv sets in a market. They likely would go after UNC or NC State, but Duke brings them nothing (other than basketball and soccer).

If the $EC thinks they have pretty much solidified their position as the nations premier football conference (which is debatable), it stands to reason they would take steps to improve the leagues basketball image. Adding UNC and Dook would certainly accomplish that.

would be inclined to join a conference that they could not manipulate and control.
They might start crying at the first meeing when Slive tells them to take the big football generated revenue sharing check, sit their a$$es down, and shut the he!!-up.

well....if they can get one win in Chapel Hill it would be more than us and I hate to say it but Frank Martin is going to make the coots real good real soon. Will they be on the level of UNC? No, but they will battle them if they are in the same conference like this article suggests

A buddy of mine is a coot fan and reads that blog and always emailing me links because half the the time there is stuff on there making fun of Clemson. Half of it I just delete but the Duke/UNC thing got my attention and does make sense for the SEC

I, for one, consider the Pesky Pole and Saturdays Down South the two most authoritative sources in sports. If only they'd reblog the article about South Carolina making $100 billion dollars more than Clemson I'd actually believe it like everyone else and go into a blind panic.
