Anybody got any plans on how to destroy the SEC?

My first option would be for Clemson to just wipe the floor with them, abasing their ego that is running rampant at the moment.
But how about this. Let all other conferences agree to say the #### with the NCAA. Oust the SEC and let the circle ####ing, coattail riding, monopoly conference play each other so that they can continue to win 'meaningful' NC. Then we'll let everyone else play some football without all the bias...all this sounds simple enough...let's get started.

Of course! Brilliant! It's really the ESPN announcers that are wearing uniforms, winning all those National Championships, and kicking the snot out of the rest of the nation on the football field for the past 10 years. Please give this a rest. We should be in the SEC (would help tremendously in all sports, especially football and basketball) but we are stuck in the ACC and we have to live with it, at least for the foreseeable future. The entire nation is interested in and watches the SEC championship game each year (Yes! Credit that to ESPN), while the ACC championship games can't even draw half a stadium, and nobody really cares outside of the ACC schools.

please explain how being in the sec would help in basketball

the acc is far and away superior - top to bottom, esp. with the new additions. imo we are drawing closer in football, but there is still a huge gap. we have clemson, fsu, and va tech that, on a given day can compete with the sec's best, after that we might win 1 or 2 games, depending on match-ups and venue. baseball is extremely close, although the acc seems to fold when we have a team with an excellent chance to win the cws title.

Glad to! We could actually compete in basketball in the SEC, unlike the ACC, where Duke and UNC dominate recruiting in the round ball!

Well, if you wanna play the best, football wise, we need to be in the SEC. If you wanna play the best in basketball, no question that the ACC is the best. I simply stated that we'll never recruit better players than Duke or UNC, and it's been that way for 60 years. Frankly, winning the ACC in football is mostly a "who cares?" on the national scene, in light of our competition there. Hopefully, the new additions will give the league a boost, in both sports.

when louisville comes in and starts out as a top 3-4-5 team in the acc., it makes one think a little bit (in football)basketball they will battle the 1's and 2's.

I think we'll have the issue settled opening day at DV in August. If we smack UGA good, our league gets an instant kickstart of credibility for the 2013 season.

Well, the reason why the NCAA is the biggest college athletics association around is because they pay for all postseason play. That is why many colleges left the NAIA, previously the biggest one, and jumped on the NCAA's ship.

To quote a former great Clemson coach, "Academics are overrated. Does anyone really care about the chemistry lab on a crisp, fall afternoon?"

Have the NCAA

Require each automatic qualifying conference to play each other on 2 weeks per year. ie ACC vs SEC week and then ACC vs BIGXII week. Only stipulation is you don't play your rival. But #1 vs #1, #2 vs #2 and on down the line in those weeks. The next year your conference will rotate to the other confernces. If the SEC had to play OOC conference games each year like that, the hype would stop. Everyone would see they are no better than the other teams.
