Anybody else change their mind about Brownell after tonight?

I stated that if they lost tonight, I would be in favor of firing him, now I am hoping they win a couple of more and even if not, I say give him another chance. 3 Good recruits coming in plus Chef,
p,Godfrey returning plus some other talented sophomores. Now, to get big strong center in the portal, and the Tigers will have another promising year coming up!

Not. Maybe you need to re-watch the game. They missed a ton of wide open shots. Plus, we are the best team they've played all year. Zero teams on their schedule we would not be favorite.
The sky west Mac or whatever their conference is, is crap. They were not getting in without winning their conference tournament. That trophy was their natty.

The Lobos lead the country in two-point shots per game (45.5) and sit fifth in two-point shots made per game (23.4) before the game.
They shot 29.7% from the field and 39% from 2 (41 shots) / 13% from 3 (23 shots).
They shot below average but tried more 3s than usual due to trailing/defence.

That's a stretch. Our interior defense was fine. We dared them to hit shots and they didn't. Our perimeter defense has been bad pretty much since the new year, we just got a matchup that couldn't take advantage. If we give Baylor the same looks we gave NM they'll run us out of the building.

As a one time thing? Nothing, it works. But this game doesn't convince me that we've actually fixed our perimeter defense issues. It just tells me we got away with it because the other team can't shoot. I said similar things after the game against Queens that the defense wasn't very good and we were fortunate the matchup let us get away with it and was told I didn't know what I was talking about. Fast forward a couple weeks and we're letting Miami and Virginia Tech spot up like they're in shootaround. Ultimately the result is what matters, but obtaining good results from a flawed process is not sustainable.

and what he is capable of. There were no adjustments needed today, we out ran UNM in the first 5 minutes and never looked back. It's easy to not have to coach a team running away with it. I still say he is 5 seasons past his prime, this is just an example of a broken clock being right twice a day...
I want to see him COACH this team to the Elite 8.

No. I still have higher aspirations than one NCAAT win in 6 years. And more than one ACCT win in a tournament in 14 years (most years, like this one, none). NM is not a good team and yet the Lobos were favored. House fouls out and Mashburn was 1-11 from the field and 0-6 from 3. Yes, Clemson had something to do with that but the Tigers perimeter D is still suspect. And no one should make a coaching decision based on one game. Still 14 seasons of abject mediocrity, occasional big wins, and way too many bad, embarrassing losses.
