Any Chance we Jump GT if . . . . . ?

No. 16 Missouri gets CRUSHED by No. 1 Alabama
AND
No. 13 Wisconsin gets CRUSHED by No. 5 Ohio State
AND
No. 11 Georgia Tech gets CRUSHED by No. 4 FSU
I think we have a good chance of moving up at least 2 spots after the Conference Championship games, but how far could GT realistically fall? What if they got beat like 56-7? Not likely FSU could pull that off, but they are definitely motivated to prove they are worthy of a top 4 spot. It would be very interesting to see how the Committee would handle GT's ranking if that were to happen. Their questionable rankings so far this year (1 loss TCU ranked AHEAD of 1 loss Baylor who BEAT them earlier in the year) at least gives us a slim chance of being ranked ahead of GT and going to the Orange Bowl.

I don't see it, 11 to 18 is to far apart to jump a team that already beat us. They will drop no further than 15-16 and we'll be ranked no higher 16-17th. Maybe by some miracle if they get blown out 52-0 or something and it could be a slight possibility.

That is what I am thinking too. BUT, the whole TCU ahead of Baylor situation has me scratching my head enough to think there is a chance, especially given the human component of the Committee. I could definitely see them punishing GT's boring option team, fresh off of a beat-down, and asking themselves if Clemson is the better team at this moment with DW at QB.

If we had more games in which we play well and GaT didn't, then that's possible. Also, the way the Baylor TCU game ended with the game seemingly out of reach. The problem for us is that while we did lose on the road, we got our tails kicked. The QB would make a big difference, but teams in the 11-20 range, this late in the season, don't get that much attention from the committee. It's questionable whether they would factor in that our best QB didn't play and how poorly his back up played if we were in the 4, 5, 6 range. There's no way they get that nuanced on us this late in the year.
BTW, GaT will give the Noles a good game. This will not be a blow out.

Nope. A 9-3 Clemson will not jump a 10-3 GT unless FSU beats them 70-7. Won't happen. FSU will squeak out a win on the last possession.

Wouldn't surprise me to see GT beat the criminoles. They've been living on the edge for far too long and are ripe to fall off. Here's hoping anyway.

The time to do something about GT was several weeks ago, and we blew it! GT has become a problem just as usuck has and we need to focus on stomping teams like that. The FSU game should have NEVER gotten away from us this year. It makes me sick to think of how we let that game slip away.

GT beat us without DW and UGA without Gurley

AFAIK, FSU's offensive centerpiece (Winston) is healthy and ready to go for this game.

No if you want a bowl like that you have to beat a good team or two. We played three including GT. Kills me to call them good. Didn't beat a one.

Yes in the past that was true, but it's not up to the Orange bowl to decide this year. It's all in the hands of the college football playoff committee and depends solely on who is ranked higher. I guess the question isn't how high up we can move but how far down GT can fall

If DW plays the whole game, we win, and I think we win comfortably.
UGA was without Gurley, and they still almost beat GT. They would have, if Richt didn't call for that stupid pooch kick.

Cole Stoudt ensured that won't happen this year.***
