I know there's no way two ACC teams will be playing in the national championship, but realistically, we're only about 5 very possible losses away from that being a serious possibility. A Baylor loss to Oklahoma St next week, followed by an Auburn loss to Alabama to end the regular season. Add that with losses by Ohio St and Oregon in their conference championship games. Pray for an Alabama loss in the sec championship game and there we are sitting at #2, waiting for a rematch with FSU!

If Bama's one loss is to either a USC or Georgia team that we already beat, then yeah, I think we would have a shot.

Clemson wins out
Auburn beats Bama and wins SECCG
Baylor loses somewhere
Ohio St. loses to either Michigan or MSU
Oregon loses to either Oregon St. or UCLA/USC/Arizona St.
FSU loses to UF and also loses ACCCG
In that case, I think OSU and Baylor fall behind. The only options would be either an Alabama/Auburn rematch, or an Auburn/Clemson game.

the polls are all speculation. There is history of teams being punished for losing so late, and history of teams not being punished...
either way, we'd be in the conversations... but it's impossible to predict what would happen

Well,if you know that two ACC teams won't be playing for the national championship,why did you say realistically?
Realistically we could lose to the coots.
Realistically the coots could win the SEC East,beat Bama and go to the Sugar.
Realistically,Duke could beat FSU,and go to the Orange!
Realistically Auburn could beat Bama,and lose to Missouri in the SECCG.
Realistically,Ohio State could face Baylor if both remain undefeated,and FSU,and Bama fall.
Realistically,both the Citadel and Coastal could win next week.
However,all things aside,I would rather see Bama beat FSU
in the NC then us lose to FSU a second time.
Just saying,but it is a realistic possibility.

It's fun to think about the possibilities, but in all honesty, I'll take a win over the chickens and an Orange Bowl berth and be beyond happy with 2013 season.
