and with our tight & close 10-8 win Clemson was ranked #3 the next week.

I was there with the first & famous 3' x 5' PAW Flag..with my Wife, Daughter & Son on front row..and it was a dog fight til the end..when our vaulted D challenged the Tar Heel O (near the 20 yard line) to bring it on with their best..and we got lucky with a bad lateral that was ruled a fumble..and we had the ball to close out the win.

ive got that game on DVD. the better team won that day(with a break or 2). its hard to believe(for me) that 2 points changed history for this fine university forever. good post man. thank you 4 the memory. ~

Indeed it was a great victory, but... the blue bellies had actually lost the week before to the chickens. They were ranked #3 before they lost that game. #### Crum, UNC coach admitted that they had spent to much time preparing and talking about Clemson and lost focus. If memory serves me correctly, they were stilled ranked in the top 10 and I remember about chewing every fingernail I had off during this game. Our defense was absolutely unbelievable that day! Great memories, great team! GO TIGERS

the lateral that day....sealed the game and our march to the NC. That was a grind it out defensive battle like no other. 10-8 bloodbath.

Lived far away so we got up wee hours on a weekday to watch Espn condensed replay. Great game and at that time was the highe d t ranked meeting of ACC teams

UNC was ranked #3 before that loss
