Not a Nick Saban or Alabama fan. I don’t see Saban as a HC with solid character and ethics. I do believe as Bama’s HC Saban is willing to sacrifice most anything to win. But I do not think he encourages dirty play.

Now a coordinator or a position coach on Saban’s staff IMO may hint to the players to play aggressively with in the ( rules ??? ). If a Bama player can get away with a cheap shot that’s acceptable and if the player is injured as a result of the cheap shot that’s a bonus.

During games we played against Bama there were several hits by Bama that bordered as unsportsmanlike play. Because they are Alabama officials tend to look the other way.

It was a cheap hit on LSU’s QB by Bama this past Saturday. In most other games a flag would have been thrown and the play reviewed I have seen less violent hits called targeting or unsportsmanlike hits. Saban and Bama seem to get many calls that go their way just because of who they are and the popularity of the current and former HC’s.

Unfortunately, I don’t know how keep biased officiating out of sports. I think gambling is just one of a number of problems that affect ethical officiating. I believe Gambling has had a negative affect on officiating leading to incorrect calls, as well as college athletics in general.

I agree that gambling is a problem. Anyone that believes Referees got ZERO of the 7.5 billion sports betting dollars spent last year, also believes in the Easter Bunny.

I grew up an Auburn fan and have that type of feelings for Bama. Minus that championship game game, they do seem to play clean. As clean as anyone else. Dirty teams tend to flash and disappear. One reason NC State is where they are. One of the dirtiest group of thugs out there.

Clemson D appears to be coached up in regards to "targeting" - Took some tuff L's in the past with key players getting ejected. Bama gonna Bama though.
