May 25, 2021, 7:48 PM

And this is exactly what I had been hearing.

Pay particular attention to the following. "The jury will meet three days a week...for the next six months."

Holy $%#%. What are they investigating...the Rosenbergs?

Re: Ahem

May 25, 2021, 8:22 PM

Nope.

They almost certainly are going to flip Trump's CFO Alan Weisselberg, since his daughter-in-law Jenny apparently served him and son Barry - her former husband - up to the Feds up already and apparently gave them enough to put them both away for the foreseeable future, so it's either, flip or burn, for them. I think we all know how that ends. Does anybody ever stay loyal to Trump, or he to them?

At that point, Trump's got...problems. You don't lose your CFO and win against the Feds in a white-collar crimes case, any more than Slippery Rock University beats Bama in football.

lol, Cohen and a scorned woman.

“Weisselberg was not available for comment. Her spokesperson Juda Engelmeyer said she had been ordered to evict her Upper West Side apartment on Wednesday after Allen stopped paying the rent.“

Here is my fav part from your scoop.

‘They said, ‘We want to pick up your stuff tonight, your evidence,’”

Who determined that these boxes of stuff are already evidence? The scorned woman? The TDS DA?

You know, if people thought Biden really crushed Trump in the election, they wouldn’t be trying so hard to get rid of him. The MSM is a fkn joke, every Trump hating liberal is a joke. 4 straight years of “bombshells” every five minutes that have led to nothing. Congress trying to make sure he can never run again. What are liberals scared of? Freedom? Enjoy your pssy administration while the squad, China, and Russia own us.

She actually has been feeding them that stuff...for months.

I think she had 23 meetings with the DA, if memory serves. She's been walking them through those documents for awhile, undoubtedly in exchange for immunity...and also as leverage against her husband for custody of her kids and as leverage in what's looking like a real nasty divorce battle.

Son Barry worked real hard at alienating her. In retrospect, seemingly not a great plan.

Re: indictments are imminent

May 26, 2021, 7:14 AM [ in reply to Re: indictments are imminent ]

Well, technically, they really should have, but Trump illuminated something that will haunt America a good long time: you can't get impeached if your own side won't hold you accountable, and here is where having "two medias" dealing out two sets of facts by two sets of talking heads is killing America. He was, sorry, to anybody with eyes blatantly and clearly compromised by Putin - and guess what: his campaign's direct collusion with Russian intelligence was actually proven just last month when - oddly - Treasury Department memos surfaced that indicated Manafort had indeed passed internal polling data to Constantine Kilimnnik, which is the definition of "collusion".

Where this report's been languishing and how somebody - undoubtedly Bill Barr - sat on it so long, nobody's quite sure right now:
https://apnews.com/article/donald-trump-paul-manafort-russia-campaigns-konstantin-kilimnik-d2fdefdb37077e28eba135e21fce6ebf

Well, shee-it. That's anti-climactic. Years after the fact and long after it no longer matters, a smoking gun. Because unless the Senate votes to convict, you're not impeached. And if they aren't going to impeach for attempting an insurrection, they're certainly not going to go back and reconsider their first vote...so I think Trump's successfully beaten the rap.

But this whole "Russian collusion hoax" nonsense is pretty much straight BS, at this point. He colluded, point clearly proven, and small wonder he pardoned Paul Manafort. Fox News just convinced their viewers it didn't matter.

This is very different, though. Because he's not president...and he can't abuse his office to stop what's coming after him now. He has no more pardons to dole out to his collaborators...and no more friendly attorneys general to run interference for him, mischaracterize Mueller's reports, or bury damning memos and evidence on his behalf. And he doesn't have a friendly half of a Senate he can intimidate into not voting for impeachment.

This is just a legal proceeding, now. And he tends to do really badly, at those. He may still beat this rap as well because there's still the question of finding a jury that will actually convict him; all he's gotta do is find one guy who says Not Guilty on any case and the jury hangs, and there's no question he's got an acre of diehard followers out there...but that didn't seem to help any of his guys like Manafort in their cases. Those juries were all like: "He was just so obviously guilty we couldn't not convict." I think that'll be the case here when they go after Trump too.

I dunno. I personally think they just sort of grind him under. Sort of feels like this vast machine has him, now, and it's seriously peeved and motivated...and he played fast and loose way too long, and now that he's just Citizen Trump again, I think he's way out of his weight class, legally. I just think there's too many skeletons going to come shambling out of the closet when it's all said and done and there's not much he can do to stop it anymore. They hate him up in New York now, and he's got literally 50+ years worth of sins up there awaiting inquest...they're not going to stop.

Parties don't withhold a platform in a presidential election. Period. The fact that the GOP did it this year says all you need to know about Trumpism. They wanted to win again, but they knew this guy wasn't actually a Republican. But they were stuck with him.

Could they run on pro-life? Oops, no, Trump is pro-choice.
Could they run on small government and local control? Nope, Trump was an authoritarian who overstepped his authority.
Fiscal responsibility? Nope, Trump embraced government wasteful spending.
Pro-women? LOL
Immigration? No... even they knew Trump's immigration policies were disastrous.
Military? Nope, the Pentagon hated Trump.

But they did know Trump spoke to the ignoramuses of America with his troglodyte ways, and they hoped that would be enough to carry them.

That, or just make up some voter fraud BS after the election.

Actually almost of those 'Pubs came from the Problem Solvers Caucus...28 of the 35, in fact. That coalition includes Manchin and Sinema in the Senate on the Dem side, ...and guess what, also has exactly 28 Democratic members in the House as well.

So basically you're talking a 56-member centrist bloc that pretty much spans both parties. It's not hard to figure out who they are on the Senate side either...Manchin, Sinema, and Jacky Rosen (Nevada) on the Democrat side, and on the GOP's side Susan Collins, Ron Johnson, and Bill Cassidy.

See any patterns there?

So actually there is a bloc of centrists who repeatedly and consistently tend to gunk up party-line votes, and you tend to hear their names over, and over, and over again, because they're the ones who actually do try to work both sides of the aisle and can actually be reasoned with, and their votes are generally anything but party-line.

I despise Trump but I'll eat my #### live on fb if he ever spends a day behind prison bars.

####, dude... now I kinda don't want him to go to jail.

Kinda.

Just like the NYT said about attacks on Israelis being a "gift to the right," if this goes anywhere, keeping Trump out of POTUS candidacy will also be "a gift to the right."

Maybe. And I'm just fine with that.

Keep Trump out of the presidency, and America becomes, if not sane again, then a whole lot saner. Most of our current batch of right-wing politicians play at being "Trumpy" but the reality is, they have their own personalities and once elected, they're going to do things their own way, and the reality is, Fox News is nothing but State TV that molds itself to the whims of Dear Leader and has its viewers duly parroting whatever he wants them to say regardless of how effing inconsistent it is with previous positions.

I mean, they literally sold the GOP on being anti-war, Pro-Russia, and free-spending, in like, five minutes flat.

A month after the GOP's next Dear Leader is elected, you Foxworlders won't even remember Trump even existed. And none of you will have actually ever liked him.

Whatever. The next Dear Leader is highly unlikely to be a complete sociopath who makes a go at upending Democracy, and will probably at least try to make a minimal effort to reach across the aisle. Keep in mind a GOP leader doesn't even have to hit 50% approval to stay elected; the Electoral College is stacked in the GOP's favor to such an extent 45% literally will do the trick, minimal courtesy and competence is all it takes. Trump's problem was he couldn't even manage that.

The moment there’s a new Republican leader the propaganda arm of the leftist establishment will have you calling them Hitler and pretending to like Trump. Just like all of a sudden you media led mongoloids looove W and Cheney. They’ll tell you what to think, you’ll follow with zero introspection, principle, or critical thought.

Dude, Trump's taxes got leaked last year. They were a train wreck. Actually that comparison is probably unfair to train wrecks. "Finding" something looks like it's likely going to be the least of their problems.

There were so many obvious flashing red lights all over his taxes, the biggest problems were: where the heck do you start? The obvious tax fraud? The obvious insurance fraud? The greater hints at money laundering? Money guys were like: holy sh!tballs, Batman.
https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/10/three-interpretations-of-trumps-tax-records/616570/

There were some pretty obvious reasons he didn't want those abominations out. 'Cause, like, wow.

They’ll fish until they get a bite.

Doesn’t matter if he’s guilty or not. DA was upfront in her campaign that she would be going after Trump regardless of the facts.

I’m not surprised at this point that we have declined to the point of political show trials. I am saddened to see that people are so brainwashed by the narrative that they’re actually cheering the idea.

There's nothing "show" about a criminal trial, particularly a white-collar trial where you've gotta first spend six months in front of a grand jury. You either have the goods as a prosecutor or you don't, and the burden of proof is overwhelmingly on the prosecution. You'd better be able to make your case.

My guess is they've got the goods, and there's ample badness there for them to find...but again, they're going to have to clear that hurdle before actual judges...some of whom are likely to be conservative appointees. And then they're going to have to make sure they prove their case before twelve jurors...again, not a slam-dunk, since some of them are going to be Trump supporters requiring a high burden of proof as well.

So forgive me if my "brainwashed" self - who has served on actual juries as an actual voter and American citizen and seen how the process works up close - is dubious of describing the process as a "political show trial".

If you're appreciably different than a QAnon supporter, I really have yet to see it.

And I think it's kinda sad...

That some people are so in love with Trump, they're not willing to entertain the idea that he may have committed crimes.

Shows what a cult of personality and con man he is.

But hey, whatever... even if it is a witchhunt, good. It's worth it to teach him and his loyalists a lesson.
