It may sound crazy, but with all the Clemson haters loving the fact we had a few losses this year and thinking Clemson is on a downward spiral.....I think I want this win as much as I have wanted a win since our last Title Game.....
I can't wait to Rack up another 10 win season....and be able to say....OH CLEMSON HAD A BAD YEAR.
10-3 IS OUR BAD YEARS NOW?....

And I must say....IOWA STATE fans are completely respectful of our program, I posted on their board and got nothing but great conversations about our program and most said they are honored at the chance to play a program that is on a level they hope to achieve....

statement.
1) That our recent promotions are up to the task (not that a loss says that they AREN'T up to the task, though many will say that).
2) That our culture remains the healthiest and most productive in college football. MOST of college football is seeing a lot of kids transferring and opting out before non-CFP bowls. Conventional wisdom says it would be even worse for a program that has sustained success at the level we have and then has a "down year"...and worse still when key coaches move on. To have the players stay AND prepare in a way that's necessary to beat a strong Iowa State team is, to me, a statement.
3) I agree on the 10 wins...it is a great streak and I would love to see it continue. That's also why the Wake game was a little more meaningful this year...it sealed the home win streak for another year.
Also agree on the Iowa State fanbase. Level headed fans, based on what I read (I don't post on their board). I have enjoyed their comments and perspective.

I think we all want this 10th win, if for no other reason than to end what was a trying year on a positive note.
But regardless of the outcome, I want to see some positives out of this offense. I want to see an offense that appears to be running on all cylinders. I want to see some improvement in DJ5's techniques. I want to see some play calling that will work and allow the offense to put some sustained drives together, and take time off the clock while scoring touchdowns.
If we see that,I think we get that 10th win because even with a new DC the defense shouldn't miss a beat.

The media may try to spin it with their top RB out but they have more than just him. Good structurally sound team. It's a reason they're favored. So, imo, a good quality W.
Had an ugly early season 10 point slugfest with Iowa where 4 turnovers lost it for them. They held Iowa to 170 total yards and only 11 first downs.
The 2 pt loss to Baylor, 7 pt loss to Oklahoma, West Va, and 3 pt heartbreaker to Texas tech. So very similar to us. Tough team.

I know the "experts" picked ISU as the favorite a couple of weeks ago. I wonder if that is still the case with their biggest offensive weapon gone.
