After seeing what is unfolding in College Station...

It makes me even more thankful to have Coach Swinney running our Football program. We may not have the huge NIL Deals but we are bringing in quality young men that want to be here. If these young men can make a few dollars along the way, then great but it is the quality of the person not the quality of the deal. I am sure our small NIL deals tail in comparison to other schools, but it won't matter, it's an attitude and a will to win. Coach Swinney understands exactly what it takes to win, and he is looking for players that fit that mold.

Sometimes these kids that are just chasing paper are worse for the team then kids that just want to play and play hard.

I once respected Texas A&M and I used to cheer for their success. I believe their downfall started when they left for the SEC and then they changed who they were.

Agreed. I believe it should start with the President who allowed the AD to make these decisions.

All one has to do is recall the Hatfield, West, and of course the yearly roller coasters under T. Bowden to appreciate the winning. Then throw in that Coach Swinney is doing it while trying to make his players go into society being the best men possible.

Well said on all accounts. Agree with tatted in respecting aTm before they got into the SEC. The same downfall could occur with OK and Texas. I'd love to see the ACC add TCU and ok st.

Our coach drives our culture, in addition to leadership among our players. Can you imagine KJ Henry and/or Ruke "discovering" a couple of OUR players smoking pot in the locker room?

Pressures to win by big money will cause some to make decisions they know are not right. Sometimes things work themselves out as it seems to be happening now in College Station. Not knowing those involved bringing in low level culture guys is a dangerous game to play in that they will be there for 3 years and is a big gamble unless you want to hire baby sitters. Reputation in my mind is huge and Jimbo is diminishing any that he had left.
Jimbo is easily in my top 5 of most disliked coaches and was before his time began at A&M.

Winning was everything and then Dumbo and big money...dump loyalty to state of Texas...destroy one of the most storied rivalries in college football..sap alumni for a bigger stadium than Texas...as testosterone and money flowed brains got smaller...and look what you have ended up with...a disgrace to the state of Texas...and it's just football!
