But now FSU is making me wonder...too bad there isn't a playoff this year.
Oregon 59 Tennessee 14 Bama 45 Tennessee 10
Very similar, would be a very good match-up between Bama and Oregon. We will see how FSU does the rest of the year.

There's plenty of reason, they haven't beaten anyone and they play a crappy schedule....their opponents are a combined 29-34 as opposed to 32-21 for FSU. that will go up even more after this weekend.

Because whomever wins the East sucks anyway. There's a reason SCAR still has a shot of winning it. If UGA would've stayed healthy, they would be the clear-cut favorites to win it and would actually give Bama a good game.

Let's say South Carolina wins their conference games but loses to Clemson. They'd have 3 losses, and they'd be out of the top 15, but they'd be in the SECC. The only way UGa gets into the SECC is winning out, and in that case, I think they'd be in the top 15 with consecutive wins over UF, Auburn and GT. Missouri could lose to A&M and still get into the SECC, but they'd probably be right on the cusp of the top 15 because A&M is their last game.

(I can't remember who the guest was) "Bama is still my number 1. They haven't done anything to lose their ranking yet."
That's indicative of why college football is broken (and may not be fixed until we get a legit 8-team playoff)--your ranking shouldn't be based on "not doing anything to lose a spot" but what you've done to EARN that spot this year.
I think FSU and Oregon are the only two teams who've done anything to earn a one or two spot this year and sadly one of them will be left out because Bama is Bama and hasn't "lost" their spot.

But I also don't think it would be wrong if they didn't. It doesn't really matter...if they both go undefeated, Oregon's resume will pass that of FSU, because of the ACC's lack of depth. If Alabama loses a game, it definitely won't matter, cause they'll play each other.

FSU wins - #3 #7 #25 Oregon wins - #5 #12 #16
And Oregons #5 win being to a won loss Stanford.
FSU all three wins were undefeated...
Really don't get the reason or math behind it. And people talk about media preference? They're waiting for FSU to slip up... But it the don't, are you kidding me? Historical kings of the ACC and SEC matched up for the NC? Two eras of dynasty football collide? How do you pass that up....

Because they all got blown out.
And of the 3 UNDEFEATED ranked teams FSU shutout out 1 and had a larger margin of victory on both. The next two weeks will tell us a lot.
Oregon will have to beat the brakes off 1 loss Stanford and FSU will have to struggle with Miami. I don't see either of those happening. FSU jumps and stays.

Check the OOC records. PAC-12 is 30-6 (21-5 vs. FBS)...ACC is 34-11 (21-11 vs. FBS). The ACC's OOC record vs. FBS schools lags behind all the other major conferences (PAC-12, SEC, Big 12, and Big Ten). The ACC has played a tougher OOC slate overall than the others, but they had some bad losses in there.

Clemson over Oregon St.
Stanford would beat Miami and UCLA would take VT.
GT/ASU would be a good game. I'd give the lean to ASU. But at least we know that the GT nerds wouldn't be distracted by the ASU chicks.
Arizona probably beats either Md or Duke. But it would be a close line.

Perhaps best in the country. 5-10, they are not good. If you matched the 5-10 teams in the PAC-12 up against the corresponding ACC teams, 7-10 point favorites, or better, to me.

Keep in mind that they don't have VT, GT, or Duke. That's three of the better "mid-tier" teams in the conference. So their particular schedule is even worse than an overall generalization of the ACC.

I still wonder why neither has jumped Alabama. I like Bama

and I think that they're good. #### good. Better than most teams. Bt overall, I don't see why they're #1. Based strictly on performance thus far, FSU and Oregon are #1 and #2

I don't know if that's true. I would love to see it, though

It'd be really interesting to see if that would really work that way.

I don't think Miami is a top 10 team. I am not sure they are a top 20 team. they look good some times and horrible other times(nc and wake).

Problem is...

PAC 12 does not play any acc/sec teams out of conference. At least quality ones. Oregon played Tennessee and UVA. Both combined for one conference win. I think fsu would beat Oregon and I think Clemson would beat Stanford. Not buying the Arizonas, washingtons, or LA schools. Def not buying Utah. One of pac12's top 25 teams lost to eastern Washington.

Bama's "big" OOC win was VT to open the season. I guess

that puts them in a league with Duke. 2 weeks to prepare for TAMU and won by 6. 2 weeks to prepare for LSU. Creative SEC scheduling. Ole Mrs. turned out to be less than billed and AU-Burn is the only other team with a pulse. The rest of their OOC schedule was practice for the third string. They're getting a pass on the basis of previous years' performance and 1-and-done rankings of opponents. They should be getting beat up by the computers but obviously those algorithms have an undisclosed bias as well. By performance ---THIS year--- FSU and Oregon should be the clear #1 and #2.
