Are yall kinda bummed? at Dabo

I know it shows some kind of class. but I think Dabo should have gone for a TD when he kneeled at the 1. I love Dabo to death(No ####), but killer instinct is one thing he doesn't have. Even if he did go for the TD it would not have blown out Boston College. You could see the look on Tajh's face when Dabo was signalling for a kneel. He looked at Dabo like " really coach? " When a coach has killer instinct it give the player confidence, and it rubs off on them. It really don't take killer instinct to take a 21 score lead, but Dabo did not have it in him.

run by AE... then when he got stopped a yard short we decided to just end it. It's not like AE fell down before he got there... we would've taken the points.
But after the first down, wouldn't have been classy to take two more shots on em. I have no issue with it.

I really wanted the TD, but he made the right call. Jimbo did something similar last week and could have piled on points in the past 2 mins a didn't. It's what separates the Dabos and Spurriers of the world.

I would have lost a ton of respect for Dabo if we did not take a knee. The game was over. PERIOD. Get over it. FSU took a knee last week for us. It's the right thing to do. It proves nothing other that you are a p-ri-ck of a coach. We know some of those coaches, and they suck.

if your hunting and you kill a deer, when you walk up to it, do you shoot it again? Why would you? its already dead.
Scoring another TD wouldnt have proven anything, we had the W, everybody knew we couldve scored it if we wanted to, Dabo just took the high road and decided on the classy choice. Good job Dabo.

I'm all for the kneel and believe it was the right call but yes, you could tell Tajh was disappointed. Generally, when you throw your hands up, look down and shake your head means he wasn't happy with the call.
But that doesn't matter. If the tigers get a chance to run the score up on the #####, I'm ALL IN.

His decision showed a lot of class. You don't have to embarass another school, its players etc., in a situation like that. Thanks, Dabo!

Dabo made the correct call
Oct 1, 2012, 12:10 AM
|
|
The kneel down was the right thing to do. As others have said, the game was over. Had we scored on the previous play I would have been fine with it as we were vanilla running the ball up the middle and BC had every chance to stop us. No one would have faulted us for scoring at that time. But going for it at the one yard line with time about to expire, it would have been a total lack of class.
Just look back a week ago to the FSU game. Jimbo had his Seminoles take a knee (as well as not throwing a pass their last few possessions) when the game was out of reach at the end. They had us beat. And while an extra touchdown or two would have made them look even better in the polls, long term it would have only been a negative.
All that being said, I understand why many would say it is the defense's job to stop the offense and I can't find fault in that. If I was a quarterback like Tajh in the middle of the fight I would have been upset that we didn't punch it in. College football on occasion is about teaching life lessons and maybe some of the players learned a little something taking the knee.

Florida State could have done the same to us the week before. We had what it took to keep the ball and get the first down that allowed us to run the clock out. The game was over, they were already dead. So, no, I would have been bummed if he went for the score though.

How relieving it was to see EJ Manuel slide to the ground on that long run....then the FSU proceeded to take a knee. I've never been more relieved watching a ball game than I was there. We beat them, no need to pad stats or run the score up when you have em beaten already.
Biggest game of the year this week...he can run the score up on the yellow faggots from Atlanta!! Go Tigers!!

If you'll notice, we went hard for the score right up until the last play. Nobody told Ellington to stop and be tackled at the 1; he was trying to punch it in. For us to try for the TD on the last play of the game, however, would have been tacky.

There were three offensive decisions that disappointed me...
Oct 1, 2012, 8:46 AM
|
|
on Saturday but kneeling at the goal line was not one of them.
No. 1 was the trickeration play that led to an interception. It was a redciulously foolish decision IMO. Had Clemson just ran its normal offense, we could have taken a 24-7 lead into the half and the game would have been all but over. Instead, we make a boneheaded decision which lead to a turnover, a BC score, a 14 point swing, and a momentum shift.
No. 2 - The decision to got for it on forth and short. We should have punted and pinned BC deep. Instead, we game BC the ball at midfield.
No. 3 - The play that was called on 4th and short. The play bunched all of the linemen together at the LOS and eliminated the running lanes. Spread the field and run the normal offense.

Unreal.
There's no killer instinct associated with scoring on a team that is dead. BC was dead. The game was over. If you want to talk about coaching decisions that rub off on the players, how about the coach showing some respect to the opponent after a hard-fought game?

Would have served no purpose other than to make us look like jerks. We still climbed two spots in the poll. We are still the second highest ranked 1-loss team. Another 7 points would not have made a difference, and not going for it may have endeared us to some of the AP voters.
