The ACC has a winning record this year against the SEC.

Alabama needed a miracle over Auburn to win. They got smoked by Texas.

Jeez, why is anyone even talking about this. You’re being baited by ESPN people who are financially incentivized to have the SEC in the playoff, or at least in the conversation.

Just let this go. Alabama and UGA will not be in the playoff.

The ACC went 6-4 against the SEC. In fact, the ACC won against the Big Ten too. Overall the ACC was 10-9 against other conferences. Only the PAC-12 did better at 7-3. The SEC had a big time losing record. They’re soft this year. Not getting in.

I agree with everything you said.

But keep in mind FSU needed lesser miracles to beat Clemson and Boston College.

Bottom line is we do not have an objective selection process right now. It would be great if we had an NFL style “eat what you kill” selection process. Win your division move on. Win your conference move on. Win a semi move on. But we do not.

The current selection process was intentionally structured to be highly subjective.

I don’t know what the committee will do this year, but personally applying my subjective logic, I believe Alabama is much much much better than FSU.

Greg Sankey was almost right saying, “ one of these is not like the other “. He should have said two are not, because the two conferences with one loss are SEC and Big 12.
