The ACC currently has six programs ranked either No. 1 or No. 2 in their respective sports in the preseason or weekly polls for the fall - the most among all conferences. Teams earning a No. 1 or No. 2 ranking in a major poll are:

The ACC's fall championships began this Friday with cross country. ACC Network will present extensive coverage of the 2023 fall sports seasons with over 70 field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball matchups. Upcoming ACC Fall Championships:

Oct. 31, Nov. 1 & 3 – Field Hockey Championship in Charlottesville, Va.
Oct. 29, Nov. 2 & 5 – Women’s Soccer Championship – Semifinals/Finals in Cary, N.C.
Nov. 1, 5, 8 and Nov. 12 – Men’s Soccer Championship – Championship in Cary, N.C.


The ACC Board of Directors formally admitted the University of California, Berkeley (Cal), Southern Methodist University (SMU) and Stanford University.



The ACC announced its new creative campaign, “ACCOMPLISH GREATNESS,” a multi-part brand campaign highlighting the vast success of the ACC’s athletics and academics alike.



For the 17th consecutive year, the Atlantic Coast Conference leads the way among Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) conferences in the “Best Colleges” rankings released by U.S. News & World Report. The average rank of ACC schools is 54.9, which leads all FBS Conferences.



Tickets for the 2023 ACC Football Championship Game are on sale now via Ticketmaster.com and through the ACC’s official website at theACC.com.



Tickets are also on sale for the upcoming 2023 Ally ACC Women's Soccer Tournament and the 2023 ACC Men's Soccer Tournament final, both at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina.



The CW Network announced it has secured exclusive broadcast rights to 50 ACC college football and basketball games each season through 2026-27.



The 2024 ACC Winter Championships dates and times were announced on Oct. 20.



The ACC officially joined the Queen City by raising the conference flag and flags of all 15 member institutions at a ceremony at the new office headquarters, Legacy Union’s Bank of America Tower in Uptown Charlotte.



The ACC earned the most 2022-23 NCAA championships of any conference with a league-record nine. Overall, the 16 NCAA titles by the ACC in the last two academic years are also the most of any conference.



Sixteen ACC programs finished the 2022-23 season ranked either No. 1 or No. 2 in their respective sports, and all 15 member schools captured either an ACC championship or regular-season championship.



Football

The 2024-30 Football Schedule Model will be announced on Monday, Oct. 30, at 6 p.m. on an ACC Network Special: "ACC PM: Football Schedule Model Release.”



Through the first eight weeks of the season:

The ACC has four teams ranked in the AP Top 25 poll – Florida State (No. 4), North Carolina (No. 17), Louisville (No. 18) and Duke (No. 20). Miami is also receiving votes.
Florida State (7-0) is one of just nine teams in all of FBS that is undefeated.
Six teams started the season at 4-0, which tied the SEC in 2012 for the most teams in a Power 5 conference to start 4-0 in a single season in the AP Poll Era (since 1936).


The ACC has the highest strength of schedule as a conference in the SportSource Analytics conference rankings (53.07) among all FBS conferences.

The ACC has 26 wins against teams with a .500 record or better, the most among all Power 5 Conferences.
In ACC play, 42.3 percent of the ACC’s conference games (11-of-26) entering Week 9 have been decided by one score or less this season, the second highest among all Power 5 conferences.


The ACC’s non-conference schedule is arguably the most difficult in the country. In addition to 23 games against Power 5 opponents, the ACC will play 11 non-conference games against teams ranked in the preseason 2023 AP Top 25 poll.



The ACC holds a 33-13 record in non-conference play entering Week 9 of play.

The 33 non-conference wins are tied for the second-most among all FBS conferences.
Of the 33 non-conference wins, 22 victories have come against FBS competition, which is tied for the second-most among all Power 5 conferences.
Includes 4 wins over the SEC (FSU d. LSU; UNC d. SC; Miami d. A&M; WF d. Vandy).
Includes 4 wins over the Big Ten (Duke d. NU; Louisville d. IU; UNC d. Minn.; SU d. Purdue).
Is 8-5 versus the SEC/Big Ten while the rest of the nation is 9-44 versus the two conferences in non-conference play.
Thirteen of the 14 ACC teams play at least one Power 5 non-conference opponent (including Notre Dame), while eight schools – Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest – play two.
Louisville and Pitt are two of just four teams that play three Power 5 non-conference opponents (including ND).
Louisville and Pitt are two of just six teams across the country to play 11 games versus Power 5 Conferences (including Notre Dame) this season.


Television Viewership:

Overall, the ACC has had 13 ABC/ACC broadcasts on the season, the most of any conference.
The ACC has had two games on ABC in the same week five times this season, the most since 2014.
The ACC has six of the top 10 most-watched games on ABC this season.
The ACC has had six games on ABC’s “Saturday Night Football" – the most of any FBS conference – as well as 25 appearances on ABC, ESPN and ESPN2 over the first eight weeks of the season.
To date, 19 ACC contests are scheduled for national ABC broadcasts, while the ACC Network will also feature 33 games.
Of the 19 full national ABC telecasts, 13 different league programs will be featured.
ACC Football led all conferences in highest average viewership in week 1 – more than double any other conference.
Overall, the ACC was part of three of the top seven most-watched games for Week 1.
Through Week 2, the ACC had three home broadcasts with 4M+ viewers – no other conference had more than one.


The ACC has had a team in either the College Football Playoff or the BCS National Championship Game in eight of the last 10 years, including two teams in 2020. The ACC has the second most national titles and appearances since the inception of the CFP, as well as the second-best record.



Baseball

A total of seven former ACC standouts are in this year's World Series, headlined by six players on the Arizona Diamondbacks featuring - Slade Cecconi (Miami), Bryce Jarvis (Duke), Zac Gallen (North Carolina), Jake McCarthy (Virginia), Pavin Smith (Virginia) and Joe Mantiply (Virginia Tech). Texas will be represented by Josh Sborz (Virginia).



Men's Basketball

Duke was voted the preseason favorite to win the 2023-24 ACC Men’s Basketball Championship, following a vote of a select media panel. Duke’s Kyle Filipowski was selected as the ACC Preseason Player of the Year, while North Carolina’s Elliot Cadeau was chosen as Preseason Rookie of the Year.



Three ACC teams are ranked in the preseason Associated Press poll, with No. 2 Duke, No. 13 Miami and No. 19 North Carolina.



Duke's Kyle Filipowski and North Carolina's Armando Bacot were named Preseason All-Americans by the Associated Press. The ACC was the lone conference to have multiple players on the preseason team.



Seventy-six alumni from ACC programs are on Opening Day NBA rosters for the 2023-24 season, which began Tuesday evening.



The 2023 ACC Tipoff event was held Tuesday, Oct. 24, and Wednesday, Oct. 25, at the Hilton Charlotte Uptown, with more than 300 media in attendance. ACC women's basketball head coaches and student-athletes were available for interviews on Oct. 24, while ACC men's basketball head coaches and student-athletes met the media on Oct. 25. Both days aired live on ACC Network, totaling 18 hours of live coverage.



Women's Basketball

The 2023-24 Blue Ribbon Panel All-ACC Team and Predicted Order of Finish was announced on Wednesday on ACC PM. Following its first-ever Final Four trip a season ago, Virginia Tech is projected to repeat as ACC champions after receiving 45 of a possible 61 first-place votes. Hokie center Elizabeth Kitley was voted the Preseason Player of the Week for the second straight season.



Kitley was also the lone ACC representative on the six-player Preseason AP All-American list. Teammate Georgia Amoore and Notre Dame's Olivia Miles were receiving votes.



A total of seven ACC Women’s Basketball teams were ranked in the Associated Press (AP) and USA Today Coaches Poll, announced last Tuesday by the AP and Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). The ACC placed five teams in the Preseason AP Top 25 and a nation-best seven teams in the USA Today Coaches Poll.



Cross Country

The 2023 ACC Cross Country Championships wrapped up today at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida, with North Carolina claiming the men's title for the first time since 1985 and NC State taking the women's title for the 29th time in program history. Tar Heel junior Parker Wolfe earned the individual men's title and Wolfpack junior Katelyn Tuohy captured her second straight ACC individual title.



NC State's eighth straight title set an ACC record while Tuohy tied the conference 6K record with her time of 19:22.8, as the first back-to-back individual women's champion since 2008-09. North Carolina's first title in nearly 40 years came behind Wolfe's time of 23:03.1 - the second-fastest time in ACC Championship history.



Field Hockey

The regular season concludes Friday evening, and the 2023 ACC Championship will be contested Tuesday through Friday in Charlottesville, Virginia.



ACC teams have gone 56-14 (80.0%) in non-conference action, highlighted by 13 wins over ranked foes.



Six ACC teams are ranked in the NFHCA Poll, highlighted by Duke, which rose to No. 2 this week. The Blue Devils are followed by UNC (4), Virginia (5), Syracuse (10), Louisville (12) and Boston College (13).



In the latest NCAA RPI, released Monday, the ACC holds three of the top four spots and six of the top 11 with UNC (2), Duke (3), Virginia (4), Syracuse (9), Louisville (10) and Boston College (11).



Men's Golf

In the latest Division I Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll (released Oct. 27), five teams are currently in the top 25, headlined by North Carolina continuing to hold the No. 1 spot. Georgia Tech is No. 5 and Virginia is No. 10 to round out the top 10. Florida State is No. 15, while Duke is tied for No. 23. Wake Forest, Notre Dame and Louisville are receiving votes.



Six players are in the latest PGA Tour University rankings, announced on Wednesday. Georgia Tech's Christo Lamprecht continues to lead the ACC at No. 2, while North Carolina's Austin Greaser remains at No. 5 and Florida State's Frederik Kjettrup is No. 8. Wake Forest's Michael Brennan is No. 10, North Carolina's Dylan Menante is No. 11 and Florida State's Cole Anderson is No. 15.



Women's Golf

ACC golfers Savannah Grewal (Clemson) and Charlotte Heath (Florida State) were two of nine amateurs to advance through Stage 2 of the LPGA Q-School. The second stage of LPGA Q-School took place in Venice, Florida, and of the 188 who started the week, 41 advanced. Last year, the LPGA changed its Q-Series criteria, requiring players to turn professional before they can compete for an LPGA card. The deadline for players to sign up for Q-Series as a professional is 5 p.m. ET on Friday, November 17.



Former Duke women's golf NCAA Champion Anna Grzebien will be inducted into the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Players Hall of Fame on December 4. She helped lead Duke to three NCAA Championship titles, three NCAA Regional Championship wins, and four ACC Championships in her four years with the Blue Devils. She was both the 2005 NCAA Individual Champion and East Region Champion and was named the winner of the 2005 Honda Award.



Men's Soccer

This is the final weekend of regular-season action. The 2023 ACC Championship opens Wednesday at campus sites and runs through Sunday, Nov. 12, with the championship game at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina.



In the latest NCAA RPI, released Monday, ACC teams hold eight of the top 21 spots: Notre Dame (1), Wake Forest (8), Duke (11), Clemson (12), Virginia (15), North Carolina (16), Pitt (20) and Syracuse (21).



Eight ACC teams are ranked in the United Soccer Coaches poll, the most of any conference. Wake Forest is No. 3 this week and is followed by Notre Dame (5), Duke (8), North Carolina and Clemson (T10), Virginia (14), Syracuse (19) and Pitt (20).



Five ACC teams earned spots in the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Committee top 16 ranking, released Oct. 20: Notre Dame (3), Wake Forest (8), Clemson (9), Duke (10) and Virginia (15). That is the most of any conference.



Women's Soccer

The bracket for the 2023 Ally ACC Women's Soccer Championship was announced on Thursday, as Florida State earned the No. 1 seed following an unbeaten conference slate. Notre Dame claimed the No. 2 seed after blanking Clemson 2-0 on the final day of the regular season. The Seminoles and Fighting Irish earned byes into the semifinals. The Championship gets underway on Sunday with first-round action when No. 3 Clemson hosts No. 6 Wake Forest at 6 p.m. and No. 4 North Carolina welcomes No. 5 Pitt at 8 p.m. Both first-round matchups can be found on ACC Network.



All six teams in this year’s field were ranked or receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25 with No. 1 Florida State, No. 3 North Carolina, No. 8 Clemson, No. 11 Notre Dame, No. 20 Pitt and Wake Forest receiving votes. Duke is currently No. 25 in the weekly poll.



Five teams are currently in the top 25 in RPI, headlined by four teams in the top 15. Florida State holds the No. 1 spot, while North Carolina follows at No. 4. Clemson is No. 10, Notre Dame is No. 11 and Pitt inched into the top 25 at No. 25.



The ACC is the only conference with two undefeated teams, as Florida State (14-0-1) and North Carolina (10-0-8) are two of the final five teams in Division I without a loss this season.



Swimming and Diving

In the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) preseason edition of the Division I Top 25 dual meet poll, seven ACC men's teams and six ACC women's teams each made the list of Top 25 - the second most of any conference.



Virginia women's swimming and diving earned the top spot at No. 1, followed by No. 3 Louisville, No. 4 NC State, No. 15 Duke, No. 16 North Carolina and No. 17 Virginia Tech. The ACC has the most teams of any conference in the top 20.



At the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, eight ACC student-athletes brought home medals across a span of five days. Virginia swimming brought home 15 medals - seven gold and eight silver - from Jack Aikins (three gold, one silver), Noah Nichols (one gold, one silver), Paige Madden (three gold, one silver), Emma Weber (silver), Reilly Tiltmann (three silver) and Anna Keating (one silver). Louisville swimming brought home five medals with Gabi Albiero's gold and two silvers and Murilo Sartori's gold and bronze medals.



NC State led the way for the men's swimming and diving teams at No. 4, followed by No. 11 Virginia Tech, No. 12 Louisville, No. 15 Virginia, No. 17 Notre Dame, No. 23 Georgia Tech and No. 24 Florida State.



USA Swimming, the National Governing Body for the sport of swimming in the United States, announced that Todd DeSorbo will be the head coach of the U.S. women’s swimming teams at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.



Men's Tennis

The ITA released the Division I Men’s National Preseason Rankings and has seven ACC players in the top 25 singles rankings, the most of any conference: Virginia's Chris Rodesch is No. 2, Notre Dame's Sebastian Dominko is No. 5, Virginia's Inaki Montes and Jeffrey von der Schulenberg are No. 8 and No. 13, respectively. Duke's Pedro Rodenas is No. 18 and is followed by Virginia's Ryan Fishback at No. 19 and Louisville's Etienne Donnet is No. 24.



Nine doubles pairings from the ACC ranked in the top 35 of the ITA's preseason doubles rankings.



Women's Tennis

The ITA released the Division I Women’s National Preseason Rankings and has five ACC players in the top 10 singles rankings, the most of any conference. North Carolina's Fiona Crawley is ranked at the top again at No. 1, followed by Miami's Alexa Noel at No. 3, UNC's Reese Brantmeier at No. 5, Georgia Tech's Carol Lee at No. 9 and NC State's Amelia Rajecki at No. 10. The Tar Heels' Carson Tanguilig is No. 19 while GT's Kylie Bilchev ranks No. 28. North Carolina's Abbey Forbes and Anika Yarlagadda are No. 30 and 31.



Five doubles pairings from the ACC ranked in the top 25, highlighted by UNC's duo of Brantmeier and Elizabeth Scotty at No. 2 with Crawley and Tanguilig at No. 3.



Volleyball

Three teams continue to be ranked in the AVCA poll, all three in the top 15 - Louisville moved up to No. 4, Pitt is No. 7 and Georgia Tech improved to No. 11.



The ACC owns the second-best winning percentage among power conferences, along with recording the most games won of any conference, with an overall record of 195-116 (.627).



The ACC leads the nation in kills (14,349), aces (1,759), assists (13,187) and block assists (3,936).



Florida State leads the country in hitting percentage at .319, with Khori Louis hitting .463 - the best in the nation. Pitt has the fourth-best hitting percentage with .302.



Six ACC players rank in the top 25 nationally for hitting percentage - the most of any conference - Florida State’s Louis (1st, .463), Louisville’s Cara Cresse (3rd, .462), Pitt’s Chiamaka Nwokolo (7th, .448), FSU’s Kiari Robey (11th, .427), Pitt’s Emma Monks (13th, .422) and Duke’s Jess Robinson (23rd, .403).



Pitt leads the nation in blocks per set (3.14) and has the best opponent hitting percentage in the country, limiting their opponents to a .128 clip. Monks is seventh in the nation in blocks per set, averaging 1.49.



Georgia Tech’s Bianca Bertolino, last week’s ACC Offensive Player of the Week, leads the nation in aces per set with 0.63 and has served 48 aces - the third-most in the nation.
