right.....pay no attention to the 10,000 yards and 100 tds thingy.....and Murray has started about 25 more road games than Thompson. Did the valley forget to intimaidate that evening? Apparently Dylan didn't get the memo.

I wouldn't put so much in your "wonderboy" there Mutt. He isn't playing BUFFALO in three weeks!
Also, you might want to give this memo to your young defensive backs: They aren't playing Buffalo either!
Reality is that Jawja faced mediocre offenses at best last year!
And oh oh....before you mention the lame old "but we faced Bama and were five yards away" crap??...
Alabama's defense beat you!! Tajh boyd is twice the quarterback McCarron is, and not even Alabama has a wide receiver like Sammy OR Martavis Bryant.
Good luck with that!
Go Tigers!!!

your then 30+ career starts QB throwing picks left and right. How does Murray do against ranked teams again? That's what bearing that has. Tajh has proven he shows up for big games. Murray, not so much. I said Murray is a pretty good QB no doubt. I don't care who the QB was for your game or ours vs the coots, y'all got beat down. While an L is an L, at least we were ahead at half time, not down 20+. You can like the odds all you want. Fact is y'all will have to rebuild your D replacing 8 starters. I like those odds myself. Only one way to find out and it'll be here August 31st.

> Tajh has proven he shows up for big games.
I'm not 100% sure about that statement. Let's look at Boy'd record against teams that finished in the AP top 25. In my opinion, using the final AP rankings gives a fairer representation than weekly rankings as a team may have been vastly overrated from preseason polls.
2011 #23 Florida State - win #21 Virginia Tech - 2 wins #9 South Carolina - loss #17 West Virginia - loss
2012 #10 Florida State - loss #8 South Carolina - loss #14 LSU - win
So that's a 4-4 record against teams in the final top 25 the past two seasons. If you define a big game as a top 15 team, that record falls to 1-3 with 0 wins against a top 10 team.
It all depends on how you define a big game. Was the ACC CG a big game? Even though VT finished the season outside the top 20, I would still consider that a big game. Still, I'm not completely convinced that you can say with 100% certainty that "Tahj has proven he shows up for big games."

LOL! Murray? A 58.6 rating and 7 whole points against them.
Aug 14, 2013, 4:13 PM

the gamecock quarterback produced a 262 rating on 6 of 10 passing for 162 yards and 2 tds to go with 78 yards rushing and 1 td and 35 points versus your defense last year. That was one of the highest quarterback ratings recorded last year and it was against, that's right, you guessed it, the georgia defense.
Can't wait to see what TB and company do to your defense. Should be fun.

this is about a 1st time starter on the road lighting up your "D." Imagine Dylan with 40 more starts only this time he's got gurshall in his back field. Now look at the time of possession when you played the gcs. They had the ball twice as long as your "O" and ran 30 more plays. It'll be something like that......sorry.

And now they've lost most of their starters.
I'm baffled at your boldness to say we'll play like we did that game, but your defense, which is VERY depleted from last game, won't give up the same point total of a MUCH more potent offense.

You need to be worried about your own defense

[ in reply to Re: LOL! Murray? A 58.6 rating and 7 whole points against them. ] |

We're gaining back 2 starters, two of which are or best cover corners, along with an influx of talent and the young guys who played a lot because of the injuries last year are providing depth.
Meanwhile your D is all but decimated, especially in the secondary. Not a good combination considering you be going up against one of the best stables of Wrs in the country along with an elite QB that has shown the ability to win the big games.
Remind me again what Murray's stats are against ranked teams?

because it was hard to get on the field with Nuk, Sammy, and Humphries out there. I understand what you're trying to say, but Bryant and Peake did see PT last year. Those other receivers defintely did not, "didn't play in a single game last year". I don't know if I'd put them all-conference, but these boys can play I assure you.

These aren't freshman. All of them have played and made important contributions. All have extremely high ceilings, and are going to be better this year than they were last year.
We don't rebuild at WR, we reload.

Well that maybe true, you better still worry about your secondary getting lit up! Because it's still a liability, after getting burnt all last year. And as for the 30 point win that anybody is predicting is just fooling their self for any team.

Could beat the 1972 Miami Dolphins. I am about to cancel my 2 hotel rooms, sell my tickets and I seriously doubt I will even be able to watch it on TV. This decision saves 542 miles of round trip wear and tear on the motor car and half of dozen of BC powders the next morning.
Mind you some have passed away, a few are in their 70's but there perfect season would be right down the crapper if they had to play you on August 31st.
You guys are world beaters. Champions amongst pretenders. The sun rises and sets in Athens but only when you tell it to. Why everyone in America sees the Special Education Conference as Alabama only is beyond me. Truly they are not aware of dynasty that is about to descend upon Clemson, South Carolina.
I only hope you dont burn the town to the ground as you leave. If anything is left for the remainder of our schedule I thank you in advance for that gesture

Now, don't misunderstand. We respect JawJaw's ability to move the ball when the mood strikes them.
But unless he's planning to play strong safety as well, he's not going to be the key to this game.

Both got beaten. Now you're having a pissing contest about who sucked less during those games. Gotta agree with Clemson, they performed better against SC than Jawja. And Dylan Thompson's win% against top 15 teams is better than Murray's.
