A few of you are acting like Miami > ND

Sure, 'da U' used to be a powerhouse back in the late 90s early 00s but this team is not very far removed from a loss to the Coots in Steveport last year!
Barring some tragic turn of events (which we all know can happen to anyone) we win this game handily. I love the "next game is the most important" mentality for our team, but as fans we can relax a bit on this one.
Home field advantage doesn't apply in Miami, it's basically like a neutral site game. I know about 100 Tiger fans who claim to be going, so I wouldn't be shocked if we have more fans there than the Canes.

I tend to share your mentality, as long as our players play their B+ game we should win this by double digits.... Also, as we know defense tends to travel, Kaaya will spend some time on the turf.

I look at Miami as a team in a desperate struggle to capture past glory. Also, Al Golden needs to wn this game more than anything to help secure his further employment. I'm worried we go in flat and we allow them to keep it close. The longer they stay close the greater chance the hundreds of hurricane fans might rally them to an upset. However, having typed this, I realize I am full of SH!T take what I wrote with a grade of slaw......

I think the Tigers should control the LOS on

both offense and defense, and generally speaking, that will usually win games.
Maybe I'm alone in my concern, but I am worried about this game. The Canes have a good QB and rarely turn the ball over---important elements should the upset gods be in a foul mood. However, they do get penalized a lot and Coach Venables will be keeping pressure on Kaaya like nobody's business.

We had plenty chance to break Louisville game open. They did drop a TD catch tho I give them that. We have opened it up on the O since Louisville and DW is finding his rhythm while getting use to having Mike Williams on the sidelines. We will win by more than 3. Bet it.

eating them in order to feed off the kind of crowd that place brings. That doesn't make it any less dangerous of a place to play, though. When Dabo said BYOE, I think he was really talking about creating your own energy because there won't be enough of a crowd there to create that "game" energy either way. With a noon start, it'll be even quieter than normal.

I don't see a killer instinct with this Al Golden coached team. They let teams back into games BC they get lazy, Miami vs Nebraska comes to mind. They also don't sellout when given opportunity FSU tried to give them a shot and they refused to take it.

That's because Al Golden doesn't have a killer instinct. He's a conservative coach that coaches scared. See the FSU game last year. Miami was up 16-0 and 23-7 at the half and was dominating FSU and making Winston look silly and FSU's defense look silly. And then Golden got scared and tried to run out the clock and Miami lost. I can't remember a single game against a real opponent that Golden has put his foot on their throat. He just doesn't have it in him, and doesn't know what to do. Another reason he's a horrible coach.

It's not humility, it's reality. We're that bad, because he's that bad. We lost to a mediocre Cincy team.

Seriously though, I feel ya on the hate for Al Golden, but you have to admit he has been hamstringed from the word go. He came in dealing with sanctions. He coached under the cloud of an NCAA investigation. So far he has been clean and clean takes time. Randy Shannon wasn't much better and I feel like he was clean with the benefit of dirty recruiting (previous coaching). It will take some time to get back but I don't think the U will be as sexy as they ever were. Might win championships again but not like they used to. I look forward to the ball ge this weekend and I hope we all enjoy it. Go Tigers!

Please don't use the word cloud around Miami fans. Al Golden has used that as excuse for the last 5 years. Ohio State had a "cloud" and they just won a national title. Yes, Al Golden walked into a horrible situation, but he still can't coach. That's been evident for years. Miami, even with the cloud, which hasn't been a valid excuse for a couple of years, has had more talent than anyone in the ACC not named FSU or Clemson, but he's yet to win the pathetic Coastal. Look at last year's team. 7 draft picks, 13 players on NFL rosters. 6-7 record. There is no defending that.
This is why he needs to be fired:
32-24 overall 27-24 vs. FBS / I-A Teams 20-22 vs. Power 5 / BCS conference teams 17-17 ACC 0-12 vs. teams who finished ranked 11-16 vs. teams who finished over .500 9-16 vs. Power 5 / BCS conference teams that finished over .500 10-12 on the road 3 of the 10 were vs. South Florida and Florida Atlantic 4 of the 10 finished the season with a winning record

I want him out, and I'm just a Clemson fan hoping Miami stops embarassing the acc. Get the F uck out ask Golden...and Frank Beamer as well. The U has the talent, but they continue to embarrass the football team, fans, coach, and most importantly, the conference.
That said I think Miami gets up to play Clemson. I don't have much to say about Miami besides that Kaaya is probably overrated. You lost to that gamecock team last year. I know the score against fsu was tight, but

Kaaya is not overrated, he's one of the best QBs in the nation, but I can't argue with the rest. Kaaya is doing all of this with a middle school OL and a special ed offensive coordinator.

You'll win handily, I have no doubt about that, and we truly have no home field advantage unless we're playing FSU, UF or we're winning and playing a "big" game, but you won't have more fans than us unless you're bringing 35-40,,000 fans. Now, I'm not bragging, trust me, our attendance is horrible, but at least be accurate with your smack.

I'm not sure to what extent, but there's definitely a lack of confidence in our coaches and the team. Some were convinced that we'd get beat by Louisville, Notre Dame, and/or GT. When that didn't happen, then came the talk of us suffering a letdown to BC. Some had even looked well ahead to a potential letdown to NC State. It doesn't matter who the opponent is, someone here will make a case for us getting beat.

Our keys in this game are like they will be for our "competitive" games:
Even or better in turnover count Win 3rd down (offensively and defensively) Even or better in the kicking game

Bear Bryant used to say it is impossible to get your team up for all 10 games of the year , but I believe Dabo and Staff can do it .

We only have to really "Get Up" for 4 or 5 games per year, especially since S.Car is back to their old ways.

Thanks for your comments....agree "the next game is the most important" - one game @ a time is the only way to stay focused and enjoy the journey
Am traveling to Miami today for the game from South America....a couple of brief questions:
Where will Tiger fans be tailgating? Where will they be in the stadium?
Will be purchasing a ticket @ the stadium.....looking forward to meeting-up w/ some fun Clemson grads...
Wishing all those traveling for the game an awesome time!
