7-0 versus 4-3. My reflection.

I understand the disappointment in losing the big lead last night, not finishing the opponent, not impressing the pollsters/committee enough. I have a feeling after watching the film today, areas to improve will be identified and steps taken to improve performance. So my hand wringing doesn’t really matter.

Look, this team is rebuilding from a season where the QB really struggled mentally and physically, the o-line never had great continuity, and the receiving corps was just injured or flat out poor.

So to be 7-0 this year so far is quite the testament to these coaches and players. Markedly better is each category. Perfect? No. Best team in College Football right now? No.

I’m very proud of this team. Every game from WF to now has been a watermark test in some way or another for this group. Question upon question to the legitimacy of this team’s readiness and ability. They have passed each test.

Now there are more tests to come, but there is a lot to like about this program, these coaches, and these young men.

7-0 versus 4-3…..I’ll take it.
